Love the shop! I had originally taken my car to the old location because it was running bad, Mike diagnosed it and it was a lot cheaper to fix than I thought. Well sad to say that car died in a puff a smoke a long time ago :( My new (hey, new to me) started overheating and I took it to the nearest shop, they wanted me to spend 600 dollars for a new radiator. I dug up ASE's shop number from a long time ago (they have now moved to SE 122nd) They diagnose my car with a faulty radiator cap... a $7.95 fix.... I got the radiator cap and installed it. Poof problem solved. I saved almost 600 dollars by going to ASE Auto repair like I should have in the first place... more

Today I shopped around taking my car to differnet places to get fixed. I came across ASE Auto Repair and Exhaust. I explained what problems I was haven and was told to bring it in so they could take a look at it. When i got there he wanted to test drive my car. Afterward, he took a look at the front end (which is where my problems were) and told me what his findings were. So rite away I said, "" How much""? I'm a chick that knows anything about cars an gets taken advantaged of all the time from places like Jiffy Lube, Les Shwabb an auto repair. The price was much better then what I had ben told previously throughout the day. So, I knew he wasnt tryin to work me! Not only that, he took the time to explain things to me. I left my car at their location on 122nd to get fixed and picked it up later that day. My car is in much better shape now and they did a excellent job fixing it. I had called Mike from ASE Auto Repair & Exhaust about a motor issue we were having with one of our trucks. He was the only person willing to look at it for us for a very reasonable price. Ase Auto Repair & Exhaust is great. They currently have two of my vehicles, and I'm about to send them another. I first heard about them through a customer who came into my auto parts store, telling me how great they were. Since then, I've come to find that they have a strong reputation around town. I had a problem vehicle that no one else could fix, so I decided to try them. Well, they got that car going, and I've been returning ever since. I never have an issue with their work. They are really fast, their prices are fair, and they often don't even charge me for little things that other shops would. As a female, dealing with mechanics can be a little intimidating. Other places have tried to sell me all sorts of things, and when I've gone to ASE they tell me I don't even need most of it. The guys at ASE will sit down and explain things to you. They are really honest, and you never feel like they are working you over. This kind of treatment is hard to find in the auto world. I've even got my parents going there now. more

I went to a transmission shop where they drained the fluids from my vehicle. They said I had a bad catalytic converter, so I took it to a muffler shop and they said the same story, that I had a bad catalytic converter. I took it to ASE, and they said I didn't. Well, I have 3 catalytic converters, and that costs $900 to fix. Obviously I didn't way to pay for that, so I had ASE work on it. They said that they were going to get to the root of the problem and would not bother me until they find out what it is. Turns out it wasn't the catalytic converter, which saved me $900. The distributor cap was arcing and my rotary point was melted. I drive for a living, having started this job 2 weeks ago. ASE was willing to work with me so I could keep working, and now no one is going to touch my truck except for them. It's hard to find a good service like that, with honest mechanics that get to the root of the problem instead of guessing at it. While it was in, ASE suggested a carbon flush too. It's like a chemical that runs through every part of your engine and actually cleans out the carbon buildup. It's similar to the additives that do that for you, but they don't do it quite as well as they say, and so you end up with buildup throughout your engine. Instead of changing every single point out, the carbon flush hits every single point and flushes it out. Now, instead of getting 13 miles to the gallon, I get 19, and that is a plus that I needed in order to do what I need to do for a living, and that's to drive. It worked, and that's what I liked. I went to ASE Auto Repair & Exhaust at the recommendation of friends and family. I'm glad I did, too, because the engine rebuild they performed on my '67 Chevelle Super Sport turned out fantastic. After that, I absolutely trust them, and have used them with satisfaction for general maintenance on a few other vehicles. The crew at ASE is very knowledgeable. I have a friend who works for Ase Auto Repair & Exhaust who highly recommended Mike to me. He told me that Mike is always on time, professional, is fast at repairs and easy to work with. So I called him and made the appointment. I came in, dropped it off and picked it up on the day it was done. He did exceptional work! You couldn't even tell where everything fit together or where it had been painted. I'd definitely go back here again and highly recommend them! more

I have been using Ase Auto Repair & Exhaust for at least two or three years. One of their employees used to work at a different shop, and when he left to go to ASE, I followed. They are a ways away from where I live, but I continue to go over to them anyway. I always tell my friends, if your mechanic isn't broken, don't fix him. What I really like about ASE is that they make sure you understand exactly what they are doing to your car, and why. Then, they do the work well. I have never had to take a car back to them, because they always do it right the first time. Mike and ASE are very honest. The crew is very approachable, and have very good service skills. I just got one car back from them, and took the next one right in. ASE is great! more

I have to take my car back in to ASE, as I'm not 100 percent satisfied with the repairs. There is a little clicking sound that wasn't there before I took it in, and I'm just a little concerned about it. ASE warrantied all the work though, so I'm satisfied with that aspect of it. I have been very satisfied with them in general, and they have been really great at standing behind their work. I'm taking my car back in this Thursday, and I'm sure they'll take care of it. more

I have never had a bad experience at ASE Auto Repair & Exhaust. Mike has worked on a couple of different cars of mine. He does a good job, and I have referred several people to him for service. He puts a warranty on all his work, and he does the job right. Mike is honest, he doesn't charge high rates, and he's willing to work with you. First of all, Ase Auto Repair is quick. Everything gets done in a timely manner and they seem to be less expensive than other shops. Their prices are very reasonable and I don't have to keep taking my car back for the same problems. If something does happen, they are real quick to fix it. Very rarely have I had to take anything back. One time, my pickup was acting up a bit after I took it home, so I brought it back and the problem turned out to be unrelated to the repair the performed, but they still fixed it. I have used Ase Auto Repair & Exhaust a lot. I have used them for about two and a half years for 3 of my own cars, and I have also recommended them to my neighbors. I have been pretty happy with them. The quality of work is great. He has done dual exhaust, suspension work, tuneups, and replacement coils for me, as well as other things like that. They have great service and stand behind their work if there is a problem. He gets me right in and does a good job. more

I'm only a little over a year here in Portland and I am VERY glad I found Mike and his shop. He came recommended from my neighbor and I am happy and relieved to have found him. I learned he was a former Army Ranger and that made me feel good straight away, as I know them to be a cut above - Not settling for anything less than quality work you can be proud of in anything they do. I HAVE AN EXTREMELY BUSY SCHEDULE AND MIKE AND THE GUYS AND GALS AT ASE AUTO REPAIR HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ALL OF MY VEHICLES FROM MY CORVETTE TO OUR ESCALADE TO MY ALFA ROMEO. I FOUND MIKE BY GOING FROM SHOP TO SHOP WHERE THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM AND MY ALFA MIKE ACTUALLY SAVED ME FROM PUTTING IN A COMPUTER WICH IS WHAT THE OTHER SHOP THOUGHT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. HE SAVED ME 1400 DOLLARS. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! THE SHOP COULD BE NEWER AND NICER BUT MIKE DOES THE BEST WITH THE FACILITY HE HAS AND I WILL NEVER TAKE MY CAR ANYWHERE ELSE. HONESTY, INTEGRITY AND FAIR PRICING ALL IN ONE PLACE IS RARE AND USING THEM WILL ENSURE THERE PLACE IN THIS ECONOMY AND ENSURE YOUR CAR AND YOU ARE TAKEN CARE OF. I have a high performance vehicle, and I was doing some after market modifications. We were in Alaska and there was a shop there that was supposed to deal with my transmission. I gave them $4,000 to give me a racing transmission. My wife and I were PCSing to Kentucky and on the drive the transmission blew out. They had cheated me pretty bad, and they didn't do the requirements. They had also kept my car for 3 and a half months. I didn't have a place to go, but made it down to Portland. We went to a few places asking around, and they recommended Mike at Ase Auto Repair & Exhaust. We went in and talked to him. He helped me and my wife out. He gave us options for a rental car, and he got me enough evidence to go to small claims court and get some money back from the shop in Alaska. He was finished with the car in 4 days. It was an amazing turnaround. He also noticed some other repairs and modifications that they had done wrong. The check engine light was on for things that shouldn't have been wrong. Mike fixed it all, including an exhaust leak and the muffler. He kept us safe, and I am grateful. I am not going anywhere else. We are in Clarksville Tennessee, and I am not going anywhere else. If I need any work done on that car, I will drive the 2 or 3 days to Portland and have Mike do the work. If you have a performance vehicle, you should go to Ase Auto Repair. more

I don't have any problems when going into Ase Auto Repair & Exhaust. When I go in Mike tells me exactly what I need, and how much it is going to cost, so he is really good about that. I have known Mike for 10 years. He does a really good job, and does what he says. Some things take him a little longer to figure out, and some things he does immediately. He definitely knows what he is doing. I can't keep up with all the new vehicle updates. One good thing that Mike does is that if he doesn't know the issue, he will find it on the computer and figure it out. more
