Overall I really enjoyed my trip to Ankeny Hardware, where I went to buy some PVC pipe. I had a complicated request -- they had to cut the pipe into about ten short sections -- and the staff was very helpful and entertaining besides. They're a bunch of curmudgeonly survivalist guys who stock strange items you won't find at most hardware stores. Prices here seem to be a lot higher than most, but despite this problem I would shop here again due to the wide selection and solicitous, helpful employees. Like many stores in Portland, they have no plywood, though.
