Allie's Rand Deli

If you work in downtown Minneapolis, you surely know how difficult lunch time in the skyway can be. Most of the restraunts are a tangled web of fast-food that makes your pants tighter just thinking about eating there every other day. Allie's is an oasis of healthy, fresh vegetables, breads, soups, yougurt and just about anything else that you could ask them to make! It's options and addendums to the main menu makes it the best of all the little spots that I've eaten at. As a vegetarian, it's so hard to find food on the go that hits all the main points for me in a meal. Allie's soft-shell black bean tacos (they even make hand-made guacamole every day), their made-to-order salads and veggie omelets in the morning have sustained me through 2 years of lunch breaks in downtown. The sweet treats they have are beyond good and my whole staff loves the 6+ different options for scone flavors at our meetings! ;) The customer service is over and above the regular crowd of "ma and pa" restraunts in the skyway. Scott and his staff know the customers by name and they are always thanking you for your business. I can't say enough about this place...It's the best option for food in the downtown skyway that I couldn't live without! Kudos! more

The food here always tastes like mom made it, it is very good. You can choose to eat comfort food or something healthy, there is something for everyone. I think you could eat something that is a bit more of a comfort food and not be disgusted with yourself or feel stuffed aftewards. The staff is always friendly, which is important to me.
