I have had many experiences at Aequis over the years and I love them :) Every time it has been a wonderful, relaxing, experience. With staff that gives fantastic, sincere and know...

I visited the new location of Aequis and I have to say the decor is lovely. Although the staff was bending over backward to please me I truly felt that the quality of the massage...

Incredible Spa - even outside 5/19/2006

We went to Aequis (2 of us) and had an amazing time. We were so impressed with the level of detail and care that Aequis puts into everything. Our glasses were never empty - we had a great time - lounged in their amazing furniture - sat outside - had a very nice footsoak outside on their decks and listened to the birds and streetcar - the best part was leaving and knowing that this was here and we can come back anytime. We love Aequis! Pros: Great people, Worth Every Penny, Robes more

On Top of the City! 5/9/2006

Aequis is the epitome of elegance. They (every last person I saw there) were graceful, elegant and instilled a sense of calmness with each word. My massage was amazing. A-MAZING. I've been to Aequis a few times but they always change their routine and have always offered me something new and interesting. This time I had great bodywork and received a facial after that was thorough and relaxing. Yes, their spa is beautiful but it is the wood, stone, wool, and plants that give you a wonderful connection to the earth even though your on top of the city! Pros: Elegant, Customer Service, Grounding more

My Escape 5/4/2006

I have visited Aequis twice, once at their old location on NW Hoyt (I loved the huge room I was in for the massage there better than the smaller space I was in at the new location). There is something about all the unique artifacts and me being in a huge space, and high ceilings, echoes, and calm music. The second time I came into town I realized they'd moved! Although they are in a beautiful location and everything is still wonderful, I miss the one big dim lit room. Everyone there is so gentle and polite. I absolutely love the shower area! Thank goodness for my friend Anh who introduced me to this place. When I come into town from San Francisco Bay Area, I call in and book an appointment! I hope I can find something like that here (I haven't tried looking, fear of dissappointment). Pros: True Quiet Ambience, of a Spa, Friendly Staff Cons: New Location (Smaller, Massage Room), Pricey more

By Far the Best There Is... 5/1/2006

Aequis is by far the best spa I've been to. It is so beautiful and they are incredibly kind. Aequis is huge - but only has a few treatment rooms so they let you lay around, lounge or walk through the spa at your leisure. They aren't on the page for spas - but they are the best. Anyway, if you find them on here - maybe it's like finding them in real life - worth the effort. They are on the top floor of this cool building near the Pearl District. When I went it was sunny and I was able to see their decks. I was told that the decks are open for massages this summer!! Yeah!!! Oh, the black shower is very alluring. Kind of sexy - next time I'm bringing my boyfriend. Best part: every detail is taken care of for you! Pros: Sunny or Seductive, Spaceous, Kind People Cons: Making an appointment, can be hard more

Something's wrong 4/20/2006

I'm not sure what's happening at Aequis, but it seems like there's been a change. They've lost some good people and their service doesn't seem to be what it once was. The space is lovely, but after a couple of sub-par experiences, I think I'm ready for a change, too. Pros: atmosphere Cons: poor service, average skill, parking more

from one to the other 3/17/2006

Aequis has to be one of the most beautiful spa's I have ever been to. From beginning to end the attention to detail is amazing. It is really top notch. I just went to the new spa and it is just as beautiful as the last location. Megan has a great eye for beauty and giving wonderful services. The staff at Aequis has been trained very well. It is obvious that they are tapped into each clients wishes. I have never been disappointed when I have recieved teatments here. I hope you will prosper for many years. I look forward to my next visit. Pros: beautiful space, peaceful, healing more

A True Experience 2/25/2006

I am writing my review after my husband and I visited Aequis for the 2nd time this month . Our first visit was so amazing we booked another appointment before leaving. From the second you walk in the spa the stress seems to melt away. The music, decor, and especially the staff make you feel incredibly relaxed and pampered. The foot soak before the massage was the perfect transition from the real world to pure bliss. The massages were amazing, I am a massage junkie and I had the best two massages of my life from Jesse, he is truly gifted. I especially enjoyed the scalp treatment at the end. The shower was beautiful and necessary as my hair was drenched in oil. This is a special place, it is definitley worth every penny! Pros: Staff, Ambiance, Massages Cons: none more

Wife loved it 2/19/2006

My wife loved it, need I say more? She is hard to please and when I find something that she likes it is a sure hit. more

A Gift - A True Gift to Portland 2/13/2006

Amazing - Aequis on Valentine's weekend. We were greeted with soft voices and huge smiles - you know they love what they do. We were escorted through what must have been 30 candles in this spacious room with huge plants and wonderful art. Every detail was delicious -- the chocolates to the most amazing champagne flutes. A dream. A woman floated through the room with tea, pillows, incense...whatever your heart desired. Our massages were deep and wonderful - delivering us from this world. After it was all over I asked to speak to the owner- I wanted to her how amazing I thought Aequis was. I was told that she was gone but had indeed been the woman who floated through the space earlier. I never would have guessed. I never got to tell her - but Aequis is a gift to our community. Pros: Healing, Sumptous, Perfect more

I love the restful exotic atmosphere. I feel like I'm in Shangri-la and not in the heart of downtown Portland. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I think it's worth every peny. more

An Oasis of Calm and Healing 1/27/2006

From the serence atmosphere to the calm pace, the entire experience makes you feel coddled and restored, taking you from high stress to inner peace. The massages can be gentle and soothing or therapeutic and healing or the combination you desire. A lovely journey awaits you every time you step into this oasis. Pros: Serene, Transforming, Healing more

Pure bliss, relaxation! 1/27/2006

Beautiful, comfortable, serene environment. Everyone speaks softly, water falls and tranquil music fill the spa. Attention to detail - everything is aromatic -aromatherapeutic and luxurious! Pros: Peaceful, Skilled staff, All Natural products Cons: a wee bit expensive , A splurge-worth it! more

Excellent 1/27/2006

I love Aequis - I never feel rushed, just truly pampered! more

Perfect Brows 1/21/2006

I just had my brows done. Not a big deal - until someone messes them up. Aequis was clean and the ambiance is beautiful. Even though I only spent $20 - they treated me like a queen with tea and tour before my brows. A lot of places just rush through brow jobs and I've had my share of bad ones. Thank you for taking the time and making sure they are perfect. Pros: Brows, Interested, Caring Cons: ? more

One of the Best Spas in the World! 1/19/2006

I went to Aequis Spa Retreat and I cannot tell you how impressed I was. From the spirit writing on the walls (I've never seen that before) and organic aromas to the wonderful Dakini massage I received. The teas they serve are delicious and made by their staff - the whole visit was spotless. I normally live in Palm Beach and wish we had a spa there that was this good. Aequis - you make Portland a tempting city to live in - but I'd miss the sun too much. Thank you for adding to my visit - now I have another reason to visit. Pros: So clean, and beauituful, excellent services Cons: not in every city more

Elegant & Relaxing Spa 1/12/2006

During my Thanksgiving visit to Portland last year, I was fortunate enough to experience Aequis Spa and was very, very impressed. The setting is amazing and the decor is transportive. As soon as I stepped off the elevator, I knew I was in a special place. I received a very pampering and relaxing pedicure from a nurturing professional. As a massage therapist, I am very critical of all things "spa", and I must say that I was extremely pleased with my experience at Aequis. Well done! Pros: Elegant, Soothing, Transportive more

A special night 12/1/2005

My wife and I just came home from our spa night at Aequis Spa. What a great place. We couldn't stop talking about it in the car. At dinner, our waitress overheard us and even told us we smelled good and we smelled like Aequis. We got a chuckle out of that. I didn't think I'd be able to relax in a spa, but I had no problems at all. I had an awesome massage too. We will be back soon. Thank you for a special night. Pros: Great Massage, Big Showers, Nice People Cons: None I Can Think Of more

Great Massage Today 11/28/2005

We went to Aequis for massages and they blew our mind. Hands down best massages of our life. We will be back soon! Thank you. Scott. Pros: Great Massage, Great Head Massage Cons: Parking can be tough more

Best Spa 11/28/2005

My husband and I having been getting massages there for a couple of years now. No other place that we've been as even come close. This is the perfect spa. Pros: relaxing, romantic more

Before I knew better 11/28/2005

I used to go to Aequis. It was always okay, and most of my friends went there too. Then some of those same friends started recommending another spa - so I tried it out. I now realize that Aequis flaunts what it lacks - heart, balance, and authenticity. I won't ever go back to overpaying for a name! Good bye Aequis. Pros: atmosphere Cons: skill level, overpriced more
