Advanced Wood Floors

I was pleased with the work done by Advanced Wood Floors. In fact, this is the second time they have done work for me, and I would most certainly used them again. more

I guess our job was too small for them. Asked for a quote to get solid teak or ipe installed in our bathroom. The rest of our house is 2300 square feet of solid red oak and 200 square feet of parquet chevron teak in an office. We wanted the solid teak or ipe for a master bath and 1/2 bath and needed about 160 square feet. We talked about getting 200 square feet with overages and to have some extra left over in case we needed to ever replace any. Received the quote over a week later and it was for 220 square feet of engineered ipe. They left a message saying that solid was going to be too expensive (engineered ipe quote was for $2700). We never asked for or talked about engineered and never talked about what we though too expensive was. I am not sure why engineered was offered or why they bumped up the square footage to 220. I would like to ask them but they have not returned my email or phone calls. more

I went in to store to purchase wood filler and gained so much more information to finish my project. I will use this company for any part of my floor project. more

My 60 year old original hardwood looks beautiful. However, my contract stated a couple of items that were either never communicated to the finishers, or were ignored. I went by the first day of work to find that they had not moved the stove or refrigerator to sand under them. When I questioned this, the subcontractor stated he didn't know anything about that, so I contacted the office and was told it would be corrected, and it was, but I'm glad I stopped by or those areas might not have been done. Second communication issue was with the color samples. We chose three, and got three, but one was not a color we chose and one of the colors we chose wasn't sampled. The finisher offered to lay down that color, but we liked one of the other samples already laid out, so we went with that. Third, our contract stated they would install thresholds between the polished concrete and the hardwood. This was never done, and we are having that completed by our finishing contractor. These items were clearly on our contract, and I saw the work order with our colors and moving stove & refrigerator and installing the thresholds was on the work order. Ultimately, we have beautiful original hardwood refinished now, and I am happy with the overall work, if not the communication from the office to the contractors. more

If you are reading reviews because you’re trying to decide if Advanced Wood is a good place to shop…the answer is a hands down YES! When we first started looking for kitchen tile, we went all over town - until we found this place. The showroom is really nice, their wood floors, tiles and carpets are beautiful and I swear, the people are floor geniuses…and super friendly. Emmanuel was our salesperson and he is awesome! We had a hard time picking out a tile because we are “decoratively challenged” and he was so patient! He helped us make selections and sent us home with samples until we found something that worked and then the installation went so smoothly. We’re now looking for wood for our living area and are struggling again but he has never once made us feel rushed. This is just a great place with quality products and really good people who know their stuff! more

We got three estimates to replace a portion of our hardwood floors (an entire kitchen, hallway and into two other rooms). We had water damage due to a pipe leak. We did not have to pull all of our floors up and needed to match existing floor that was still good. Advanced Wood Floors were able to match the color and sheen so that there was no noticeable transitions between the new wood and the old wood. And...AWF had the best estimate for price. Their staff were responsive to my requests and made every effort to remedy any issues that came up. I highly recommend them! more

This 3 day job was chaotic from inception to end; however, the floors turned out great. We had no firm contract, sales agent was absent on first day, the crew (father and son) were constantly moaning, wanted use of restroom facilities (none others have asked for this!), were fearful of my dogs (were not forewarned), loud music, walking into areas without knocking, regardless of our privacy and that the dogs were being contained in rooms that they had no business being in. Suggestion - train your crew to be respectful of privacy, and not offload on clients with personal problems of the son and lack of meds causing him to be rude. This is not my concern. more

The Crew Leader Cesar n helper Jose did an outstanding job. Very polite and professional. Their workmanship is just impeccable. Our floors look better now then when they were put in 20 years ago. They were very careful in handling the furniture. Jeff is another excellent example of professionalism. He will come out, explain what they can do, and provide you with the estimate. I highly recommend this Company to anyone considering hardwood floor refinishing. more

Advanced wood floors had done previous work for us and it was excellent. This time though the installers they sent out were not qualified for the more complicated work of transitioning the new floors to the old. It took them several times to get it right. Also the finish on the floors was not as high quality as the previous work done for us. more

It seemed like a really big project, from moving out, all the sanding, finishing them and then repainting trim. Advanced Wood Floors just helped us through the whole process. They have great referral moving and painting contractors who work with them. So happy we got Advanced Wood Floors and redid our floors! more
