The signature room @ the 95th was an awesome experience. Upon our arrival to Chicago we made reservations with some skepticism. In which we were blown away with the friendly custo...

Start your evening at the bar here, but go get dinner somewhere else. The view is amazing, but not worth the price of the food Pros: view Cons: price

Depends... 1/20/2005

Your dining experience will depend on two things, and they matter. First is the weather. Do not go when the forecast is bad, otherwise, the view is the best I've seen since the World Trade Center when it was still standing (and I've been to many tall buildings). Second, know what to order. We had the Simi wine and the Linguine & gulf shrimp and the chicken. All excellent. But I've heard that other dishes are not so good. Pricey, but you are basically paying a premium for the view. Pros: View, Ambience more

Location,Loc.,Loc., 9/30/2003

You can't beat the incredible view, the food was well presented. The service was prompt and very accomodating, we were given a window table although there was a 45 min wait. We arrived an hour early and were seated anyway. If you reserve a table there is no wait for the elevator, they wisk you right up. The food is good, the service is great and as I said the view is unbeatable. Pros: View, Ambiance, Service Cons: Parking more

Don't waste your money. 9/3/2003

This place was not worth the money. The view was magnificent, but hardly worth it. It took over 45 minutes to sit us, that's with a reservation. We sat at our table for at least 20 minutes with no water or menu. We finally had to flag down a waiter who did not apoligize for keeping us waiting so long. We finally got our water and menus. We ordered, and we waited. Finally, the meal came. I ordered the grilled petit filet of beef (8 oz.), asked for it medium and for the roasted garlic potatoes. When the meal arrived, my meat was still cold and red in the middle and my potatoes were cold. Well, the bread and water were great, but hardly worth the $40 dollars the rest of my meal cost. Don't bother with desert; we went downstairs and ate at the Cheesecake Factory. It was marvelous!! Pros: Great decor, Excellent view Cons: Horrible service, Cold food, Lack of respect more

Pretty bad 8/6/2003

I wrote a review earlier, but it didn't get posted, so here goes again: This is one of the worst places I've ever eaten!! The service was abysmal and rude. Trying to find a wine that they actually had in stock, and getting a bottle to the table took almost an hour! By the time the wine arrived, we had knocked off most of our entrees. And speaking of the entrees...overcooked, salty as all get-out, and dried out from being under warming lamps. The only interesting things were the company I was with, the view, and some discussion about how spiders get up to the outside of 95th floor of the building! Pros: nothing Cons: salty, salty, salty, poor, slow service, mediocre food more

Bring a parachute. 4/3/2003

Once you get to the restaurant, smash a window, strap on your parachute and jump out the window. That would be much more exciting than staying at this wannabe upscale restaurant. Besides moronic wait staff and idiotic hosts, the food is merely average. I've eaten better food at sawdust joints in South Carolina and Georgia. If not for a very polite and professional manager, the ratings would have all been around 1. Stay away...far away. Pros: View Cons: Food, Staff, EVERYTHING more

Romantic 3/9/2003

Do not bring your car there. Take a taxi, the eL or any other form of transportation that does not require you to park your car there. Garage parking is expensive. Another tip, if you have an ear infection, go up by levels. Otherwise you will enjoy dinner with an uncomfortable feeling in your ears. Pros: Great View Cons: Expensive more
