Start your evening at the bar here, but go get dinner somewhere else. The view is amazing, but not worth the price of the food Pros: view Cons: price

Sunday Brunch is worth the cost! 11/14/2002

If you get a chance I think the Sunday brunch is a must! It is expensive at $39 per person, but when you consider the view, the quality & choice of food, and the attention the staff pays to you it is worth it. Pros: View, Food Cons: Expensive, Parking not validated more

Who needs great food with that view? 11/13/2002

Sure, the foods not great, but the view is! If you're going for decent food that's not expensive, go there for lunch. There's either a buffet, or lunch menu to choose from, many items under $10. And while it's not as romantic during the daytime as it is at night, the view is just as impressive, if not more so. And ladies, be sure to go to the ladies room on the 96th floor- it's touted the best view in the city from there! Pros: View, Ambience, desserts Cons: Adequate food, price more

Observatory Food 11/6/2002

This unique place is underwhelming at every turn except the view. The wait to be seated, the small table, the lack of space between tables are all a sign of trying to shoehorn in as many bodies as possible. In each of my three trips here, the kitchen ran out of the food that was ordered. Once it was the turkey on Thankgiving and once it was the specialty of the house on Christmas Eve. Pretty basic stuff to keeping the customer pleased I would think. Given, the work that it will take you to get there, get parked, and get through security, it is all worthwhile for the view. I suggest getting a sandwich downstairs at l'Appetito and visting the observatory. Visit the 95th once, just to say that you have done it, then don't waste your time and money again. Pros: View Cons: Marginal Food, Expensive, crowded more

awesome 10/3/2002

I've only actually eaten here once and I seriously don't recall the food. I go for the great view. i takethat back-I went for a brunch and the food was very good and quite varied. But I prefer to go at night! In fact I usually just go up to the lounge where it's very dark and romantic, pretty chandeleirs and a great view. Drinks are a little pricy, but I usually just have a couple. A great place to bring out of town guests for a cocktail, but an awesome place to have a romantic, dressed-up, elegant date. Actually I like to eat downstairs at the Cheesecake factory and then go up. Pros: avail parking (pay), super view, dark and elegant Cons: pricy more

Beautiful but not worth it! 8/31/2002

The Signature Room has the most pleasant view. It is relaxing and you can enjoy the city from high up. The food on the other hand is awful. The porkchop($27) is horrible it has this sweet apple taste on top.The staff is friendly and very nice. more
