I felt that the portions were small and overpriced - especially considering they were good, but not fabulous. The cocktails were nice though. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this p...

A real treat and unique experience 9/5/2006

I've been to Tango many times and always have enjoyed it. I do think some of the staff has a little 'tude about how great the place is...and that spending $200 isn't worth the time or effort to split checks. Yep, the only place I've been to in town where a server looked at a group of 8 and said, "I can only do 3 cards and cash". His lack of creativity with a seemingly antiquated POS system cost him a good tip...poor guy. Hope he's more customer-oriented next time. Food is always awesome and the service is usually top notch. Pros: food - the paellas are to die for!, most of the tapas, cocktails Cons: They don't like to split checks, so ask to have you're own table number (or barstool) assigned to you. Tell them to be creative and work it out! more

Good but no authentic 8/29/2006

I was born in Spain and bouncing from Tapas bar to Tapas bars is a way of life there. I went to tango and ordered food which was very good. However I do not think it should be advertised as tapas because they are not served as a tapas is. I suppose this is probably due to regulations on how food can be stored and served. In spain, tapas line the bars and you do not go to a restaurant to order them, but grab as you go. Still all that whining aside, the food was good if pricey and the wine selection was great. Go on the night they have the half priced bottles. I would like to see it become less formal. Spanish dining is not about everybody being quiet, but having long raucous meals with family and friends. Loosen up! Pros: Good food choices and excellent wine selection Cons: Too formal and over priced for what is served. more

Yum! 7/27/2006

Yum!!! I love this place. Food is always fresh, delicious and creative. Great cheese selection and the option to order smaller Tapas style portions if you want to experiment with several dishes. The wine list is awesome, providing Seattle with some interesting options from the Iberian Peninsula. The staff is very informative and helpful if you have any questions. Best dessert in town, the Diablo, great happy hour and half-price bottles of wine on Mondays (I think thats the day?) Pros: excelent food, wine & service Cons: Parking can be difficult if there is an event at the Paramount. more

Rude, Rude, Rude 5/21/2006

Three friends and I walked into Tango the other night looking forward to having a nice evening of coctails and tapas. Upon arrival, the host informed us that the wait would be 30-45 minutes. We agreed & decided to have our first drink at the bar thinking we'd have a table by the second round. Well the second round came and went and not a word from the host. When we asked how much longer, he acted as though we were the problem, not the fact that he had misled us about the wait. Finally, after 1 3/4 hours the bartender offered to comp one of our rounds. Even after the host comped the drinks he was not able to muster a simple apology or take responsibility. Sad. Pros: nice bartender Cons: wait staff, attitude, misleading more

Too bad when a favorite place turns unpleasant 4/7/2006

We have always liked Tango but they have changed. If you like slow, pretentious servers who seem bored, then you may like their changes. But we do not. We were also not fond of the server who, just a few minutes after we signed our receipt. proceeded to pick up our water glasses from our table WHILE WE WERE STILL SITTING THERE. I could understand this had we been sitting there a while. But for after 5 minutes seems rude. Word of advice to Tango - hire more people like the gentleman in the 'locks. He's cool and he knows what good, professional service is. Cons: service inattentive, rushed out of there, too slow more

Fantastico! 3/18/2006

A friend suggested we go to Tango after she had had 2 excellent meals there. I have to say that last night's experience, from Mojitos to the Chocolate Diablo is close to the best dining experience I have had in Seattle. We had no reservation, so sat in the bar booths, and I think we had the best seat in the house! After the refreshing Mojito, we sampled the duck confit salad, the amazing potato croquettes, the foie gras, the scallops, tuna stuffed peppers, and the opulent Diablo. The excellent waiter made wine choices for us that were spot on, and the layered, complicated flavors of every single dish shone through every time- Go to Tango for a compelling dining experience! Pros: Unusual Menu, Terrific Ambiance, Delicious Food more

Good food with Horrible Service 1/29/2006

We had a couple vegetarians in the group and were not allowed to make changes in the menu, as the server said that ""the chef won't like it"". Not once did we get refills on water w/out asking or asked for refills on drinks. To top that off our server messed up our dessert order and brought us 1 dessert when we ordered 2 different ones. When we confronted him with that he said ""you are overreacting"" and threw our bill on the table and said you're trippin. We asked to talk to the manager he said there was no manager. I asked another server I needed to talk to the manager and he brought the manager/chef out. We explained what happened. Even with the bad service they only took about $20 off the $150 bill. I would expect them to cover the whole thing, with the service they provided. Pros: Food Cons: Service, Parking, Expensive more
