They reimburse for parking too! 9/21/2003

I dine at Tango every time I visit Seattle. I am always impressed by the creativity of the chef, the execution and imagination of the dishes, and the friendly, warm, non-condescending attitude of the staff. I have NEVER had a negative experience at Tango, and am certain that the negative responses I have read about this wonderful place are exceptions rather than norm. I DO want to say that I believe that the service has improved over the past few years, only adding to the great ambiance and quality of the food. I suggest: allow your server to help you choose dishes, enjoy the AWESOME Spanish and Portuguese wine list, and definitely save room for dessert!! Pros: great food, awesome wine list, reimburse for parking Cons: none more

El Diablo 8/2/2003

What can anyone say about the El Diablo dessert? A scene from hell, in edible form! A bitter chocolate mousse cube sits atop a volcano of burnt meringue. A lake of caramel lava washes around the base... nut boulders and dark chocolate rocks swim in the lava... and bitter chocolate ash fountains outwards. Truly an insanely great culinary masterpiece. Pros: Excellent food, Friendly service, Did I say the food? Cons: Parking more

The best Scallops! 2/24/2003

Four of us dined here recently, and were pleasantly surprised with not just the portions, but the quality of the food. We were able to get full on 6 plates of tapas, and the scallops were just amazing! Who would have thought that a corn nut sauce could taste so good?! The flavor of the scallop sauce is still on my mind 3 days later. The prawns were also delicious and was the fundido. We really wished we had saved room for dessert. Including tip, our bill for 4 people came to just over $100. Though Harvest Vine is also good for tapas, I rate their food quality equal, but at Tango the portions are larger. Will go back again. Pros: great food, large menu, good portions Cons: parking isn't clear more

Slow to No Service 2/11/2003

After one hour, we were still waiting for two of the 4 dishes we had ordered. We finally had to track down our waiter for our check so we could get to a play on time. It didn't make sense to us because the place was practically empty at the time. The two dishes we were served were very good but the prices were quite high. I will not be going to this restaurant again, nor do I recommend you do. Pros: Near the Paramount Cons: Service, Price more

Decor very nice, service wasn't too hot - bored waitress, food good although very overpriced. Not like the tapas you get in Spain. more

Tango was wonderfully diverse 1/12/2003

I called ahead for reservations which they couldn't provide since the dining room was prebooked. The hostess on the phone made tentative reservations for the bar + did a good job of finding a booth for us. Our waiter was competent. The menu was diverse, and all of the dishes we sampled were exquisite. They are very heavy on their spices, but none were overpowering. The sangria is wonderful. I can't wait to go back. Pros: cuisine, service, sangria Cons: parking more

Tangos still worth the buzz 10/16/2002

With the economic downturn, Tangos seems to have lost some of its trendy place-to-be status. The idea of spending 8 or 9 bucks on each of a series of appettizers (tapas) just to be chic or to look at the chic, well it's just not "appettizing" anymore. But it's not fair or accurate to rate Tangos on buzz-factor alone. The food is quite good, high quality. Drinks are great too. This should have been the one of if not the top late night place to eat. And if you don't want to spend a lot just don't eat a lot. This isn't Beth's. Finally as metioned elsewhere - the El Diablo is an all time desert masterpiece. Pros: Great Atmosphere, Great Food, Open Late Cons: Spendy, Parking more
