Straight To The Point Body Piercing

I had my cartilage pierced @ Straight to the Point about 6 mos. ago. It was a great experience.....very clean & professional and I would highly recommend it to others.....(I even took my daughter there to get her bellybutton pierced). I happen to develop a very painful cyst on the back of my cartilage which I've been told is pretty common. The gal I spoke to @ STTP was so helpful and told what I should do.....she said for me to dissolve an aspirin in saline solution and make a paste to put on the cyst. Unfortunately it didn't work. BUT........I would like to share something that I found instead of aspirin that worked wonders and that you should tell other clients that may have similar issues w/ painful cysts. I used tea tree oil......OMG.....the cyst was completely gone (dissolved) in less than 48 hours. I must say that I didn't smell real good for those 48 hours (tea tree oil is a bit stinky) but heck the cyst is gone and I'm good to go. Definitely a tip I felt I needed to pass on. Lyssa W. :) more

Went in with a few questions about getting my belly button pierced, and the woman answered all of my questions with complete honesty. The piercing was quick and as painless as a piercing can be. Very friendly, polite, and professional staff. Definitely recommending more

Agreed. . .this shop was like walking into an art gallery, super cool displays and sculptures. Got a rook piercing and they did a phenomenal job. Even to the point of drawing the blinds for privacy because she could tell I was uncomfortable with strangers watching through the window. . .i'm definitely going back once this heals! more

I went in a few days ago to get a lip piercing and a micro-dermal implant on my cheek. Ruben was my piercer and he was not only super cool and friendly but also professional. He was very knowledgeable and helped answer any questions I had. My piercings are healing very well with no complications at all. The staff was so friendly and extremely helpful. All the jewelry on display was amazing and gorgeous. I felt welcomed and really enjoyed the experience. The best part was that they were extremely affordable for the high quality of customer care they offered. My piercings came with very nice starter jewelry and a lifetime warranty! I can not recommend STTP and my piercer Ruben highly enough! more

Keeps getting better and better! I have now gotten 3 piercings at STTP, and with each one, I am more impressed with the friendly staff and overall atmosphere of the shop! I just had my conch pierced there last night, and was pleasantly surprised with how easy the piercing was. I cant say enough good things about the shop! This is without a doubt the best piercing shop in portland. I've been to a number of them in portland (Robot is pretty good as well) and STTP has by far the nicest shop and the friendliest/most talented employees. To date I've had them do my septum, nostril, lip (a few times), and had them gage my ears and they've always done an excellent job. \r \r They also have a great selection of body jewlery (usually the best quality). STTP may not be the cheapest shop in portland, but as with most things you get what you pay for. more

I had been researching places to get my belly button pierced for a couple weeks now and finally decided on this place because of its great reviews. I finally went there today and got my ""navel"" pierced. Everyone working there was super friendly, helping me along with anything I needed. I have had piercing problems in the past because I am very allergic to some metals, but they guaranteed my piercing and surgical-grade steel ring for life. And, I'm not going to lie, I felt a bit faint after the piercing, but the workers just had me sit right back down and got me a glass of water, even with a line waiting to get things done. It was amazing service and I will be going back to get my ears pierced again in the future. I recommend this place to ANYONE seriously wanting great service and piercings/tatoos you can rely on. more

I LOVED THE PLACE !! Everyone there was so nice I have such a low tolerance for pain and Emily did a great job making my dermal piercings pain free!! They have such a great jewelry selection like no place else :) and its awesome location too when your done you can go browse around Portland Downtown! Its very clean and neat place if your thinking to get ur piercings done this is the place to do it at! more

I have sent so many people here and they always thank me and are amazed at how unique the studio is. It's absolutely stunning but even though it's very high class the staff are the sweetest people ever. Sometimes when you go somewhere really ""nice"" or really ""hip"" the staff treats you like you should be lucky they even noticed you but here they are sincerely happy to see you, never make you wait and are just plain nice. I even took my kids here when it was time for them to get their ears pierced. Emily was patient and did an excellent job- way better than those mall earring guns! I've been to the Tanasbourne shop as well- it looks like an art museum!!! Go here you will be SO happy and you'll feel like you made a new friend as well :) more

I heard about STTP from a friend. I have to admit, at first when I heard the prices I was not really interested in checking them out. But I went with my friend to go have their jewelery changed out. The shop downtown was very well put together and very clean. I was impressed with not only the decor, but also the employees. They were very friendly and helpful. In seeing how my friend was treated I decided this was a place I wanted my next piercing to come from. Let's just say I have been back many times!!!! I have been pierced there by a couple different piercers , but I have to say EMILY is by far my favorite. I would recommend her to anyone interested. She takes the time to get to know you as well as meeting your every need. She makes the whole piercing experience relaxed and as pain free as possible. She did my snake bites and my one of my chest dermals, and her technique is unlike any other piercer in the sense that it was less painful. STTP guarantees all of their work. They may be a little more on the spendy side, but if you ask me it is worth every penny!!! more

If you are looking for an amazing place to get your piercings done then look no further. I have been going to Straight to the Point since they opened their first shop in Troutdale. Everyone on staff is very professional, caring and easy to talk to. They take the time to answer all of your questions and are always a phone call away. I got my first piercing there 8 years ago and have never gone anywhere else. I will NOT go anywhere else. My two favorite people there are Emily and Jennifer! They are amazing and so great to have your piercings by. They also have an amazing selection of jewelry from very basic to amazing hand carved wood and one pieces. So if you were to ask me where to go for piercings that is clean, professional and awesome then run to Straight to the Point!! more

i LOVE this place.i recently got the chance visit all 3 locations here in oregon and they all are amazing.yeah,so they are a little on the high side,but it the end u get what u pay for.ive had to have my anchor moved a few times, free of charge,& in a new location. this last time i special ordered jewelery which only took 4days to get. not only can u get pierced and buy jewelery but they can special fit anything u need.i have had many diff experiences in shops around the country and by far this is the best around! and the only place i let touch me...i highly recommend emily.shes ammmmazing at what she does.she truely makes the worst experience such as a dermal being pulled into a positive one leavin me laughing and wanting to come back.\r ~dotz more

Every time I go to STTP it's a memorable experience. When you walk in, you might just think it's an art studio. The Rose Bush Metal cases, the Oversized art on the walls, the friendly faces... It's absolutely amazing! My best time there was customizing a set of plugs. They're knowledgeable staff really helped me design exactly what I was looking for. I have larger sized lobes, and it's hard to find jewelry that you want, especially something that's your own. STTP specializes in custom ANYTHING. Since then, I get all of my plugs made for me - wood, steel, stone, gold... I would definitely recommend this play to anyone and Everyone! more

I love STTP! I have been going to both the Portland and Troutdale locations since Alec first opened STTP 8 or so years ago. Emily, and Nick are the two i have always gone to for advice, piercings, jewelry, and piercing corrections from other piercing companies. Every single person in that company, that i have ever met, are well informed, and up to date on sterile procedures. Every piercing i have ever received through them, is planned and talked through thoroughly and they take amazing care of you through the entire process. they wont pierce you until yo are completely ready, and they talk you through each step. My favorite thing that they do, is explain their sterilization process to you. i love this because autoclave and sterilization are part of my daily job as a medical assistant. so them explaining their steps is a great comfort to me. and them doing that, also opened my eyes to ask that of companies that i go through to get tattoos as well. the STTP staff are amazing people, who genially care, and make great friends. All and all i feel their the best to go through if you want healthy and happy piercings. more

I'd heard of straight to the point and went in with high expectations. I had to have a titanium labret special ordered (around 50$), and when I did I was told 2-4 weeks for delivery. When I called 3 weeks later, it had not been ordered yet, and it took another 2 weeks before I actually got it. (I found the same piece online that guaranteed within 3-5 business days) Also, when I finally got the piece, it was the wrong size and the wrong type. It was too big and it was the screw kind rather than the threadless kind. It constantly falls out of my face and I can't afford to replace it. These guys carry great jewelry. If you walk in and buy something off the shelf, you'll have a great experience, but don't expect much else. more

I have been a loyal customer of a competitor for several years, having been there several times. I had talked to that shop about piercing my daughters ears, but when I took her in, they told us they don't generally pierce children under 12 (she is 6). We had planned this as a big event, and I wanted to be able to follow through. We called my husband, who found STTP on citysearch and sent us there based on the great recommendations. The shop staff was all fantastic and extremely professional. They confirmed that both of us were ready for the piercing, that we knew about what we would have to do for aftercare, and even that I was the legal guardian. Emily explained everything she was doing, showed her the tools (but not the needle), and talked her through the whole thing. A second staff person stood by and gave her some water to drink between the first and second ear. This was a big rite of passage for my daughter, something I told her she could choose for herself when she was ready. The staff treated her so well, and really honored her as the customer. Above all, I appreciate the clear focus on her, her readiness, and making sure she had a positive experience. Thank you Emily & all! more

I have been considering getting my nose pierced for a long time and I am finally at a job that allows me to have one. I searched for piercing places in Portland and Straight to the Point was one of the first places that came up. I went in without an appointment and was impressed by the friendly staff and the very clean shop. I was in and out of there in about 15-20 minutes. The thing that took the longest was the sterilizing of the jewelry I picked out. Nick told me exactly what he was going to do, what I was going to feel, and what to expect when he was done. He made sure to tell me that if I had any questions or needed anything else in the future that I could call or stop by any time. I highly recommend STTP. more
