Sensia Studio & Japanese Day

I am a runner and run the city's Marathon yearly; therefore, I get pedicure & foot massage regularly. Recently, I read a wonderful review on Sensia's Warm Stone Pedicure and decided to give it a try. Now, I totally agree that was the best & most thorough pedicure I've ever received. Tracy's technique (ie. filing, cleanning, buffing) was extra gentle, however her massage was very firm and precise. A full hour of pampering for only $40 ...wow... that's value and service. more

Most tranquil massage ever at least that?s how Amanda said it would be. I have been to several day spas and this was one of the most memorable massages I have ever received. Not only was my therapist courteous of my needs she was very hospitable. While I was waiting in for my massage I was able to admire the beautiful atmosphere. The staff was also hospitable in offering me a beverage or just inquiring as to whether or not I had been assisted. Although I was late for my massage and a bit frantic by that point having to rush, Amanda reassured me to not worry that there was plenty of time for my service. I felt welcomed from the time I got there to the time I left. I will most definitely be back! more

I have found a new salon and I am in love with my new stylist Lance. He took lots of time with me and treated me like I would expect to be treated at a high end salon. Relaxing,quiet..went for spa services and to have my hair colored. The spa made me feel like I was on vacation, small and cozy. The massage therapist was excellent. Friendly staff, give Sensia a try you will want to return for more. Hair styling/color with Orlando was the best I have ever had, and I have frizzy hair , his style has lasted me for 3 days without frizz. Pros: Professional service more

I was calling Sensia to see about having eyelash extentions applied and was told about REVITALASH, a serum I could use at home to make my own lashes longer and thicker. In just 3 weeks I have the longest, thickest lashes I have ever had! And it's so easy to use. I'm going back this weekend to buy a tube for my Sister. more

Facial w/Karen, my skin glowed after she was finished, then had a one hour massage with Susanna, she did not give me a basic massage, she stretched me, used warm stones and I only had to pay 75.00,she did not charge me for the extra work, then I had my hair cut and colored with Lance. I came to redeem a gift certificate, hoping that all those bad reviews were wrong. They were right. No acknowledgement, gossip obviously more important than clients showing up at the front desk. Quiet area is smaller than most other spas.. it is tight and I'm a small girl. Hugo gave me a relaxing massage and Karen was very soothing as well for my facial. I felt like these two individuals did a good job, but upon going to the reception desk to pay, once again no acknowledgement. I listened to one receptionist order spring rolls and bickering about the rest of his order, and another with her head down hiding. Another client filed in line right after me. Finally someone came and asked what we needed. She took care of the client behind me. Then the spring roll guy finally gets off the phone and asks what I needed. To pay, $150, perfect it comes out to the exact amount of my gift certificate, he takes it and goes back to the phone. I still stand there. Is there something else he asks. I'd like to tip by credit card. He says they do not do that there. I can go across the street to the bank or I can write a personal check to the employees and I can give it to him and he will give it to them. Karen and Hugo, I'm sorry, but I do not have time to dilly dally. I do not suggest gift certificates and make sure you have cash and patience. more

My recent first time visit to Sensia was a wonderfully relaxing experience and I strongly recommend it. The decor and ambience of the spa was very soothing and tranquilizing (dimly lit and lighly filled with floral aroma). My pedicure service with Tracy was meticulous and pampered -- the highlight was the very thorough and long massage with warm stones. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I have to say that Sensia really knows how to pamper a girl..My husband Bruce surprised me for our 18th anniversery with a day at the spa, They accomidated me on a Sunday... Rad whew, simply is totally rad. I have never had such an amazing facial. My massage therepist had a short blond bob with a comforting sense of professionalism.. I think her name was maybe Laura?. I will never forget my stylist Jonathan , I was originally down for just a consult and a style... however once he told me his ideas that he had for my hair... I got really excited and he made the time in his schedule to cut and color my hair. my friends ask if i had botox. My secret is Jonathan and Rad. Sensia I know that i can count on you.... I went to Sensia Studio today for some spa services and I've got to share with everyone how awesome it was. I wanted to try and detox myself from the stresses of work and decided to put together a spa day for myself. The Seaweed body wrap and the soul revival foot reflexology were the services I recieved and boy did I feel refreshed. I told my fabulous massage therapist what I was trying to do and she told me of their aqua detox system. I gave it a try and I felt so energetic afterwards and it only took 30 minutes. Incredable results and great services. I cant wait to return with friends to do it again. A big thank you to the staff for taking such good care of me. Pros: great informative staff more

We had scheduled make-up appointments for bride, mom and sister- after going there for a preview of the make-up- they were totally overbooked,so we had to wait about an hour for our turn- Cynthia was in such a hurry, that she forgot to prepare the bride's skin for the make-up, so she ended up looking dry and flaky and UPSET! Mom (me) and sister were rushed thru, Cynthia said that she could do us in 15 min. we had 30 min appointments! There was abosolutely no specail consideration for the bride! It was a cattle call! We had to rush back home to re-do bride's face and were almost late for limo! We will never recommend- beware bride's especially if you have appointment on Fri or Sat! Steven, the owner of Sensia, contacted me via email the day after my ""no show"" debacle. I was able to talk to him today and not only did he apologize for my experience, but he has gone above and beyond the call of duty by volunteering to send me a gift certificate for both treatments I had scheduled. I had expected him to offer me a massage since that's what got screwed up, but instead he offered to pay for both the massage and the facial. Personally, I didn't see that coming and I'm going to have to re-devote myself to Sensia. I'm so pleased that Steven exceeded my expectations. And, he was nice about it. Anyone can apologize for something, but not every business would volunteer so much to keep a customer around. more

I want to remain anonymous but I also want to say that I have never had a better brazilian wax. Ever! She is great! I had a chance to relax in the spa and take in the incense and have some of the tea the have brewed. I loved the atmosphere and adored Heidi. She was right on time and quick and as painless as one could expect from a brazilian wax. I approve and so does my significant other... Pros: relaxing heidi more

The ""Raindrop therapy"" is one of the best Spa experiences I've ever had. Followed by the warm stone pedicure, I felt fantastic from head to toe. The finishing touch was the 'Aqua detox"" footbath. I could actually see the toxins being drawn from my body through my feet! I felt both relaxed and energetic. more

I went in to use my ""seasonal update"" gift certificate and I love my new look. I used the gift certificate to purchase the makeup that Cynthia used and I feel like I actually learned something. I have been getting compliments on my make up! The certificate was for a free blowdry style. I loved Victoria and wound up getting her to freshen my color and give me a trim. I still got my free blowdry and only paid for the color and cut. I love the new look and feel much better about HOW to put on the makeup I own. Thank you Sensia for making me feel pretty. I brought my two daughters in for "" Teen Angel "" makeup lessons with Melissa and Cynthia and I want to tell you they were wonderful. My girls are twins and they are starting high school and need a more mature but not overdone look. SUCCESS!!! My girls are so happy as am I with the results- The lesson was done step by step so they could understand and to top it off they also left with full instructions on how to repeat the process. I think all girls should be taught the proper way to apply make up and these are just the ladies to do it. Thank you again and we will be back. Pros: fun and exciting more

I went in for my hair a few weeks ago and was not wow'd by this salon at all. My services were just a generic 30 minute haircut and styling. In general it's nice enough but to market it as a high-end salon is a bit of a stretch, especially since they are charging high-end prices. The waiting area is way too crowded, if you can even call it that. (It is really just 4 chairs lined up in front of the receptionists desk. On the weekends it is a zoo just like some other reviewers posted! Nothing at all like the relaxing reprieve that spas are supposed to be. I had read some of the reviews below and was surprised by the consistently high ratings. Perhaps Dallas has higher standards. What kind of weirds me out is that the owner monitors these reviews and feels the need to make snide replies to the postings. That is the purpose of having a review area--so consumers like us can give our honest opinions without feeling the threat of backlash though I don't doubt I'll be getting some. Yes, we are educated members that understand there might be some fake ""bad"" reviews just as we understand that there are fake ""good"" reviews as well, but I don't see those getting investigated. I don't doubt there will be a few ""good"" reviews in the next few days in response to this posting. more

I was very disappointed in this salon. I went for hair and makeup as a trial run for my wedding day. I also happened to be getting my engagement picture done that day. I went in and the stylist didn't know who I was and got me confused with his next appointment. He sent me back to the waiting area and then brought back to the chair where he asked me what color we were going with. Um, no - just a haircut please. I told him I wanted spirally waves. He used a straightener to create very tight ringlet style curls. I have medium length hair and ended up looking like raggedy ann. And, he only took 25 minutes of a 1 hour appointment to do my hair. I was very unhappy with the way I looked and had to sit in the very central front area of the salon waiting for my makeup. Well a wedding party came in at that time and sitting in public with no makeup and bad hair was very unsettling. I tried to say I was unhappy with my hair and they said they would fix it and put me with soeone else. At this point, I felt like I was causing a stir and a scene which made me very self conscious. People kept trying to ask me what was wrong while the rest of the salon staring at me. I ended up crying in public which was horrifying to me. Victoria was very nice to me and I appreciated her sympathies, however it was just handled wrong. They didn't make me pay but will never go back. Bottom line: they should have ushered me into the back of the salon and let me air my grievances in private. I wish they would have treated me with more respect. When I finally got home, my fiance saw my hair and said: well they weren't finished right?. Oh no....that was the final product. Pros: Location Cons: Snobby staff, rushed environment, too small. more
