Our drains from the downspouts were shooting water out of the downspouts whenever it rained. We TRIED to clear the drains but couldn't. Kevin cleared the drain of leaves and shingle grit... quickly and professionally. He was interesting and fun to talk with as he explained what he was doing and how homeowners can get into trouble trying to clear drains using rental "electric snakes." Needed drain unclogged after 7pm called rotr-rooter the tech was there within the hour, He was very nice he explained everything he was going to do, & talked to me about If that wasn't the problem what he could do & how much it would cost me. His name was Graig, he was very helpful. We had to shut off our water in the middle of the night after a pipe snapped when someone stood on an outdoor faucet while trying to climb into a high window. They didn't get into our house, but they left a huge problem behind. Water was pouring down one of our basement walls. After reading other people's on-line reviews, I called Roto-Rooter first thing in the morning. The person on the phone was helpful, and set up an appointment for the early afternoon. We wanted some time to clean things up before starting the repairs. A little more than an hour later, we got a call from a plumber in the area, who wanted to know if it would be OK if he came earlier. That was fine for us, and he was at the house within 30 minutes. He was careful, courteous, and took time to explain the damage that had been done, and what would be needed to make the repairs to the pipe on the inside (at top of basement wall) and to the garden faucet. He had to shop for supplies that he didn't have on his truck, and even made sure to come back with foam so that he could leave a good seal around the pipe where it goes through the wall of the house. I was impressed with the care he took to do the job well, and with his helpful attitude. I hadn't realized until today that Roto-Rooter provided full plumbing services. We would definitely use them again, and I was also pleased to learn that we can request the same repairman ((#523) in the future. I thought that the price was fair, given the quick response time and the quality of the work. I also appreciated the printable $40 coupon. more

Unfortunately my issue wasn't as easy as a backed up sink or main line, but instead I had a collapsed mainline tile. To make matters worse, the location of the tile was under the detached garage. Fearing the worst, I priced out taking down the garage, having the tile fixed and then having a new garage rebuilt. Luckily, Tim was able to provide me with several options and I was able to get the tile fixed without having to do anything to the garage. While I would have preferred to not have not had to call at all, Tim and his team at least made the experience pleasant. Using a camera through the mainline they were able to show me the damage, explain how the problem could be fixed and they had the drain fixed in just a few days. more

Last week we discovered that our hot water tank had broke. It was 8pm on a Saturday and we had just gotten back from vacation. Needless to say, this was not a great way to end the week. We frantically tried to shut it off and clean up the water. Then we had to search for a company that could assist us with replacing it. We have had our house for almost a year and a half and the house is only 6 years old, so this is not one of the problems we were expecting. With a search for plumbers in/around Columbus, OH, we were lucky to stumble upon the Roto-Rooter website and even luckier to discover that they offer weekend service. We quickly called the number provided and one of the friendliest customer service reps answered the phone. We told her what we had found and that we are new to owning a house and had no idea what to look for in a new one or how to replace it. She provided us with information about hot water tanks and even told us that they could bring out one on the way to replace it. Even more surprising was that they offered to come out that night and it was already 8pm! We didn't want to have them rush out so late at night, so we just turned off our water for the evening and made an appointment for Sunday morning at 8am. We went in search of a hot water tank to see if we could find our own before having the plumber bring one. We went to two places before we found one that suited our needs. Our original hot water tank was electric so we stayed with that rather than trying to get a tankless gas model. Unfortunately for the plumber, when he arrived he discovered that the tank we bought was bigger than the one he was removing. The previous owners had a 40 gallon tank instead of a 50 for a 4 bedroom house. They had also installed a rather large water softener. The plumber who was unlucky enough to get stuck with us did a fantastic job. After managing to get the old one out of the small utility closet in our laundry room, he had to work extra hard to get the new one in. He didn't once complain and was was here for the better part of the day. I want to say 'Thank You' to the wonderful customer service rep and the plumber who were both outstanding and so helpful. The plumber was kind enough to inform us of some things in which we were not familiar. I am so glad that Roto-Rooter is open on the weekends and that they have such knowledgeable and friendly staff. I recommend this company to anyone seeking assistance with plumbing needs. The service was fantastic! The price was a little high, but for the quality of service, timeliness, and knowledge of the employees, it was worth it! Thank you Roto-Rooter! more

Our kitchen sink had gotten clogged and no matter what we did, it wouldn't unclog. Since we have never had plumbing issues that required a plumber until yesterday, we called up Roto-Rooter in Columbus, OH. The dispatcher was very kind and said someone would be there within an hour or two. We only waited for about 30 minutes and our plumber, Brett S., did a fantastic job. Not only was he very nice, but he did the job efficiently and fast. He offered advice on how to prevent the clogging from happening again and was always patient with our many questions. He also had us pay a fair price and finished quickly. If you ever have a plumbing problem, Roto-Rooter is definitely where to go! more

The dispatcher on the phone was very pleasant and accommodating. It was 9PM on a Saturday night. I explained the problem and she said she could have someone there in an hour. Eric showed up in just slightly over an hour, and took a quick look at the problem. He gave us a price of $239.00 to snake the drain, which I thought was very high. However, since I had already run my 12' to 18' snake through the pipes with no success, we agreed to pay the ransom. Eric went to work with his rooter, and had to run it all the way to the stack (a very long run). Not something I could have done myself. As he was putting the PVC pipes back together under the sink, he noted that some of the plastic washers were broken and need to be replaced. He offered to replace them, but said he'd have to charge me to do it. Knowing that I didn't want to pay anything more than necessary, and that I am capable of replacing the washers myself, he said that I could get the washers really cheap at Lowe's or Home Depot and that would save me some money. I agreed! He put everything back together and cleaned up the mess. Eric gave me his card and said that his work is guaranteed and if I have any trouble with it to call him back. Overall, I would recommend Roto Rooter, and most especially Eric C. They don't charge extra for nights or weekends, but at those prices they don't have to. I had a problem, I couldn't fix it, They did! I used the $30 Angie's list coupon which took a little of the sting out of the ordeal. more

My daughter's husband is seriously ill and has been in the hospital for 14 weeks. She works 6 days a week. She and their 14-year-old daughter are trying to manage without his help financially or around the house. I am helping her as much as I can, shopping for groceries, etc. Last night i took some groceries about 7 pm when my daughter was at work, and discovered her kitchen sink and the bathroom sink (they are back to back) were totally stopped up. While washing her dishes in the bathtub, I called a Roto-Rooter to try to set up an appointment, hoping for the next day, and I would come to meet him there to let him in at the appropriate time. I was told someone could be here within the hour. I was stunned. The plumber, Eric Christ arrived in less than 1/2 hour, worked for over an hour and had the drains totally free. He then gave some good advice about keeping the drains clear. He pointed out some work that should be done in the near future, to prevent more problems. He was very pleasant, considerate and cleaned up after the work was done. I could not have been more pleased! Especially that it was done before my daughter and granddaughter returned from a school event and did not have to face the daunting problem! Thank you Eric, and Roto-Rooter!!!! more

On Saturday, 5/14, my son's 14 birthday, I attempted to replace the cartridge in my single handle Moen kitchen faucet only to encounter repeated leaks. A simple repair when reviewed on-line. No one will come out on short notice on a Saturday however Roto-Rooter was here within an hour. They replaced the faucet however the interesting thing was the plumber "Charles" interest in getting to the root cause. I have dual water heaters and after checking the water pressure indicated my temperature settings were set way too high by the previous plumber causing exterme thermal shock on the faucet internals over time. It is important to get to the root cause. My service was prompt and professional and I will use Roto-Rooter in the future and recommend them. more
