First of all, I am a big fan and regular listener of the Michael Berry show. I solicited the services of Oops Steam Cleaning based on the advertisement and endorsement featuring Michael. I am more than disappointed with their work and I would never recommend them to anyone. I will strongly discourage anyone I know from hiring them. I am very dissatisfied with the service they provided. I truly believe that the work they performed was unsatisfactory considering the amount of money that was paid. Here goes:
I paid $575 to have 3 rooms, 1 hallway and 2 sets of stairs cleaned and treated for pet stains. I found the price to be very high, but I have a 5 month old, 2 dogs and Michael Berry highly recommends them (yes, I know he's paid to do so). The edges of my carpet at the base boards are not clean and the color no longer matches the rest of my carpet. Once the carpet was partially dry, four days later (the website claims 2 to 8 hour drying time), it became obvious that the edges were not addressed at all. I called the company and Wade, the technician, came back out to my home and explained to me that the area is not part of the cleaning and requires an additional charge of $15 per linear foot to clean. I was told that the additional charge was due to ?A/C filtration.? I recognize and own up to my ignorance on the definition of ?A/C filtration? but if I had known this I would have rented a steam cleaner and performed the job myself at a much lower cost. I spoke with Troy, the owner, who claimed that they ?did exactly what we said we would do.? I disagreed stating that I paid to have 100% of my carpet cleaned and not 90%. This job was NOT $575 worth of work and I am shocked that they think they performed adequately.
Next, they have a device; I believe it?s called a hydrometer and is used to assess for pet urine or moisture in the carpet. This device beeped everywhere in my home which led me to believe that my dogs had soiled every square inch of the carpet in my home. Needless to say I was pretty disgusted and had no idea. We are not a family of slobs and we clean up after our dogs. When the technician returned to my home four, yes four, days later, I had him bring out the hydrometer to recheck the areas where I made absolutely certain the dogs had not been. The machine was still beeping everywhere. This led me to believe there was no way that my dogs had soiled the entire carpet and the device will detect any type of moisture.
Finally, the walls in my stairways were scuffed up from the hoses. To their credit, they did offer to repair the damage if I provided the supplies...pathetic.
The whole process was a grand inconvenience and I have more problems now than I did before they did their work. They stand by the service they provided and it would be laughable if it weren't so sad. I would be embarrassed if this was the result of the work that I had done. In short, buyers beware and do not use Oops Steam Cleaning. DO NOT USE
