Progress 1/30/2021

My dad has just started his time at Kindred South. Already he is making progress weaning off the ventilator. It’s slow, but it IS happening. All of the staff have been so friendly and respectful and answered all of my questions. My mom has been through a rough time with my dad getting so seriously ill from Covid. She is finally starting to relax just a little bit because of the great care my dad is getting at Kindred. We are all able to relax. It’s a relief. We are grateful to Kindred. more

Off to a great start! 1/30/2021

Our first week here at Kindred South has been far better than I expected, and I expected it to be good. My husband is making progress weaning off the vent already. He gets anxious, of course, and the staff help to calm him when I am not here to. The respiratory therapy department is exceptional. That is most certainly this hospital’s expertise. All of the staff have been so kind to me and to my husband. He has been through something so traumatic and everyone just encourages him and cheers him on. I can reassure him that he is making progress, because I can see it for myself! I am so thankful for everyone here taking care of my husband. more

Help and Guidance 1/29/2021

We have received excellent support and guidance at Kindred. Our loved one has many medical issues in addition to trying to recover from Covid. We just weren’t sure what to do and he wasn’t sure either. The Case Management director and the Clinical Director talked us through this, giving us the information we needed to make difficult decisions. We really appreciate ALL Kindred has done for our loved one and for us. more

This is the place to go 1/29/2021

This is THE place to go if a patient needs to be weaned off a ventilator. They absolutely know what they are doing in Respiratory Therapy. That’s their specialty. They were able to get our dad off a ventilator in a short period of time. They are NOT a physical rehab place. But they DO get people ready to go to rehab. My dad has received top notch care at Kindred South and now IS ready and going to an acute rehab program. The staff have all treated him so well and have tried the best they could to accommodate our family’s high need for structure and information. We appreciate everything they have done. more

Thank you 1/28/2021

I just want to say thank you to every single person who has had anything to do with taking care of me here at Kindred South. I have only been here a few days but already I am getting this trach out today! I am very very weak. I have pain that makes me act like someone I’m not. I hate that I have lost my temper with the staff due to the pain when I couldn’t deal with it. I know everyone here is doing their absolute best to take excellent care of me and I appreciate every little thing they do. Thank you for your kindness, your compassion, and hopefully your forgiveness. more

They worked together 1/12/2021

I absolutely would recommend this hospital. Why? Because of the care I received here. What really impressed me is how everyone worked together. Also, the nurses didn’t get someone else to do something for them, they just did it themselves. So it was both, teamwork, and individuals doing what needed to be done. Everyone has been so kind to me. I’ve been here over a month. The team really kept an eye on my infections and made adjustments in my medications until they finally resolved. This fight back from Covid has been really tough. I’m better now, thanks to everyone here. I’m going to rehab, then finally back home. Thank you everyone! more

I appreciate all you ladies 1/6/2021

It means a lot that I can come see my wife, watch her get great care, and leave knowing I don’t have to worry about her. I know she’s in good hands. I see how hard everyone here works. I don’t know how all you ladies do what you do. My wife may complain to me that she is cold or needs to move, but she never complains about her care. She IS getting better here, thanks to all of the great staff at Kindred! Thank you!! more

Good care 1/6/2021

You guys have been great to my wife. She tells me that. I want to especially thank a few of the nursing staff. Katrina was so kind to my wife when she had to come clean her up several times a day due to a condition that made her have frequent bowel movements. Katrina was always kind and never complained. I want to thank the nurse Robyn, who was very attentive and knowledgable. Thank you goes out to the nurse Rhonda, who took it upon herself to call me soon after my wife was able to speak for the first time in a long time. Kindred South has gotten my wife strong enough to go to a Rehab program, which will be the final step before she can go home and see her grandchildren. Thank you everyone! more

So encouraging 12/28/2020

This place has been great! Everyone has treated me so well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I made so much progress here. Every step of the way, the staff noticed my progress and congratulated me on it. They gave me a lot of praise and encouragement. They stopped at my door to say hi in the morning, even if they weren’t my nurse that day. They made me feel like I was part of the troop. I most definitely would recommend this hospital! more

I’ve come so far 12/21/2020

You guys have been so great, I can’t say enough. I have had no complaints, just lots of nice people helping me recover from being really sick from Covid. I got here in bad shape. I couldn’t even stand up. I was so weak. And my lungs were so weak, too. But the respiratory therapy staff and the rehab staff did their thing so well that now I’m walking all the way down the hall and going up and down steps without my oxygen levels dropping real low. I’m actually strong enough to go home, just in time for Christmas! I thank everyone here. Definitely I would recommend this place. more

Unbelievably great care 12/21/2020

I have received absolutely unbelievably great care here. I had nothing but a pleasant experience. I had no problems with anything or anyone. The staff, I mean everyone down to the cleaning girls, were great and courteous. They helped whenever I needed help. I have nothing but respect for everyone there. I would absolutely recommend this hospital. more

You brought her back 12/14/2020

I would definitely recommend this hospital. My wife received excellent care. The staff worked well with her and actually helped to bring her back to herself. I was so worried throughout her stay. Not because of her care, but because I worried she wouldn’t regain her ability to breath on her own, think clearly, swallow, and eat. The Patient Advocate, Trisha, was there for me from day one, providing me the support and reassurance I needed. She facilitated face time chats when I wasn’t allowed to go to the hospital. I can’t thank her, and all the staff at Kindred South, enough for all they did. I have my wife back! more

A positive attitude 12/14/2020

The nursing staff was excellent. They worked together to provide the best care. Special thanks to Tasha, Pam, and Helene. They were wonderful. Tasha’s upbeat attitude really helped with my recovery. They not only encouraged me, they had a good idea projected to my husband, which helped to give my whole Family a positive attitude. more
