Kindred Hospital St. Louis South

My mom has been to 4 hospitals in order to get the care she needed to recover from Covid. When she got here, she was unresponsive and on a ventilator. Now, she is breathing room air only and eating regular food. She is smiling and having conversations with me and the staff. Her husband and I were really scared. She almost died. Kindred helped her come back. She is still very weak and that will take awhile to improve. That’s Covid. But she is coming home, finally. We are so very thankful to all the people at Kindred for all they have done for her and for us. Yes, we would most definitely recommend this hospital. more

While I have been here, the nurses have all acted like they loved me and I loved them. I have been treated outstanding and like they truly cared about me and my care. Excellent service by all employees. Honestly this is the best hospital I’ve ever been in. It’s not like a big hospital. It’s much more personal and friendly. I would absolutely recommend this hospital to anyone and I rate it A+ !!!! more

I would recommend this hospital because of the way you’re taken care of here. They understand that I can’t do it all and they have patience with me. I want to thank Becky, Barb, Stephanie, Michelle, and Emily for taking great care of me. more

I would definitely recommend this hospital for a lot of reasons. Having a private room is a plus. The staff were always courteous and they seem well-organized. They always were on top of the right timing with blood sugar checks and insulin. My roomed was cleaned every day and the housekeeper, Christine, was always so friendly and asked me where I wanted things put back. Staff came to my door to say hi and ask if I needed anything, even when I didn’t use my call light. No one ever seemed put out to help me, they always were kind. I especially like my nurse Ryan. Also, Dr.Ada was dire t and courteous. Really, everyone was great. Thank you. more

I would definitely recommend this hospital. I want to thank the night staff who seemed to always get blood drawn and who took extra care due to my being a hard stick. Debbie gets an “ada-girl” for ingenious ideas to help wash my hair. I rate this hospital a 10 out of t0 because I was always treated with kindness and respect. The wound care here is exceptional. more

I would absolutely recommend this hospital because I really like the staff. They were all very nice and professional. They all were so great taking care of me. I couldn’t ask for better. I think I entertained the girls as much as they entertained me! I want to give a shout out to Tez, Rhonda, Kay, Jeanna, Teresa, Tiffany, Zandra, and Lucas. And Matt in therapy was really great. Trisha was there for me through the hardest day of my life and the days after. And Michelle, the dietician, helped me a lot; otherwise I probably wouldn’t be eating. I wish I could stay here for therapy. I am really going to miss everyone. more

I would definitely recommend this hospital. The nurses and techs were caring and kind. I could list several nurses as especially caring and kind but Rhonda and Maggie stand out as always making me feel glad to see them and that my care and needs would be met in the best way. The tech Lucas is the best in the facility. Dr. Davidson, the wound care doctor, was wonderful. He was patient and explained everything so I could understand. Thank you to everyone. more

I will try to write a very fair assessment of my husband’s stay here. Never having experienced a catastrophic injury before, we had no idea what lay ahead of us. And honest overview would be, all of my husband’s needs were attended to as far as we are aware. The nursing staff, janitorial staff, RT and Rehab staff were always ready to assist. My husband came to this facility with specific needs and this facility specializes in these specific needs. I feel that his progress was facilitated and his goals were met. I believe that all of the staff cared about my well-being as well and they were considerate of my requests and concerns. We, as well as our family, are grateful for his progress and we know it is due to the excellent care he received here. We want to give particular thanks to several people who we think went above expectations: In the nursing staff - Sue, Zandra, and Phyllis; in RT - Sherry, Eric, and Becky; In OT - Katie. And Trisha, we always felt she was an advocate for us. Many times she reached out not only helped to make an anxiety-filled situation calmer, but resolved any concerns. Each of these individuals showed the extra concern needed to put our minds to rest. Thank you. more

I would absolutely definitely recommend this hospital. There are a lot of people I want to thank but I’m not so good at remembering names. I do remember a few. Dana and Rhonda are so helpful. And Rho was really nice to me when I did therapy. I like it here. I feel very comfortable. It’s a warm atmosphere with good comaraderie among everyone that works here. I have gotten good care here. This hospital is incredible. When the ladies come into my room, there is a warm feeling. When I leave here today, there will be tears, and they will be mine. I will miss everyone. more

I just want to thank all of you at Kindred so much for everything you did for my son, and for me. Wow, he came so far while he was here. He came in on a ventilator barely able to move and he is leaving breathing room air only, eating regular food, and able to stand and take a few steps. He is ready to go to acute rehab, thanks you ALL of you. And you have been so supportive and understanding with me. Thank you for letting me be there at his side so much of the time to help meet his special needs. You guys are GREAT! I would totally recommend this place! more

I would definitely recommend this hospital because of the great care I got here. Jessica in RT was very calming and reassuring when I needed help. Ashley the nurse was very personable and put me at ease. I really came so far while I was here. Everyone was compassionate and encouraging. They helped me get completely off the ventilator. They understood that it was a scary and stressful process for me and they helped calm me. Therapy worked with me and I got stronger. The dietician and speech therapist helped me finally eat again. Everyone worked together and now I’m ready to go to rehab and then home. What a journey!! Thank you Kindred. more

I want to thank all the nurses here that have been taking care of me. And PT and OT. I would recommend this hospital because now I’m walking. At first I was wobbly, but now I’m walking down all the halls. They have really helped me. more

My brother and I can’t thank Kindred St. Louis South enough for the great care they have given our sister. Even though she is unable to communicate, they talked to her and genuinely cared for her. I was able to get updates from the nurses daily, from the Director of Case Management weekly, and I could talk candidly to the Patient Advocate any time about my concerns or questions and felt heard and taken seriously. We would definitely recommend this hospital. more

I would like to thank all of the staff who took care of me here at Kindred. They were all very good. I would definitely recommend this hospital because I had good service, and they were very supportive of my efforts to rehab. They encouraged me and celebrated my progress. Everyone here at Kindred South has been so kind to our loved one and to us. We could not ask for better care or a better experience. Our experience here has been a sharp contrast to our experience at the previous hospital. It has been a relief and a breath of fresh air to finally get such good care and good communication. We had to make a very difficult decision and they gave us the information and support to make that decision. We want to let everyone at Kindred Know that we appreciate all they have done for us. more
