Distinctive Cleaning

I have been debating for years on hiring help with cleaning my home. I am a busy mother and working professional. I felt guilty having someone clean my house, but I just couldn't keep up. I called in and recieved a quote from Jennifer and then decided to schedule a one-time cleaning to see how it went. I was THRILLED and set-up every two weeks. I have had 4 cleanings now and my neighbor signed up now too. We both are so happy we did this. It's very reasonable to have them in and very much worth the money to keep my house cleaned. I will be with this company for a long time. I would rather skip a meal or two dining out to pay for these cleanings, its awesome and the office staff and cleaners are very nice and professional! more

Rarely do I post remarks regarding my experiences as a consumer, which could be due to the fact that my experiences have either been completely benign, or it could be that I'm just far too lazy to give anyone an appropriately rated shout out; either way, I feel compelled to warn the general public about this particular cleaning outfit! Please consider this ""virgin review"" carefully. While it's true that I haven't had the actual displeasure of using their services, I have had the experience of speaking with them, via telephone, to discuss the possibility of having them clean my house. During this conversation with Jenny or Lenny (SP), I was told (in a very curt manner) that I needed to supply the company with a credit card for pre-payment, leave a key in a semi-inconspicuous location for the maid(s), and that my home would be cleaned for a nominal fee! Sounds good? Well, it shouldn't, as she had NO IDEA what I wanted/needed cleaned, the size of my home, or anything else for that manner. When I proceeded to ask questions, I was told, ""...we are very busy - do you want to schedule a cleaning or not..."" For all I knew, this number was a front for a credit card scam (not saying it is, nor do I believe it is) - isn't it appropriate to view the property, or at least ask pertinent questions before committing to a price (which was much higher than I had anticipated)?????? Suffice it to say, I contacted Merry Maids, who came out to prepare an estimate THAT SAME DAY! By the way, this ""phone call"" ended with me being hung up on! Nice! more

I was very happy with the service I got from Distinctive Cleaning! I got a ""deep clean"" which the cleaner went above and beyond, I have been sick and haven't been able to keep up with my house, when I walked in, it was such a treat! My house not only was cleaner then I have ever got it, it smells good. They even sell Caldrea at a discount cost, and delivered it to my home. I also got my carpets cleaned, the gentleman that came was so polite, helped me move furniture, got red wine stains to come out my carpet. What a great job and I would use them again and recommend them to everyone, I'm also thinking of having them come once a month, once my job is a little more stable. GREAT JOB more

Then hire this company! Not only will you be monumentally disappointed by the service and probably get jacked on the price (or have your credit card double charged routinely), you can rest assured your cleaner will be treated like garbage by the company as well! more

The cleaning is mediocre at very best. Compared to other companies this one lacks detail! The one person I did find did an adequate job on my house was always late or did not show up. This company is also notorious for charging your credit card before your service, like days before. This is a problem because they also have a problem with showing up at all. They have had issues with Management since Sept 2010 and as of begining December, the problems have not yet been remedied. There are far better services out here that dont charge you prior to the day they show up. A good cleaning company will charge you after service has been rendered. This company says they will not charge your card until services are rendered, but I have not found that to be at all true. So, if you enjoy mediocre cleaning and billing nightmares, this company is the one for you! more

My mother had recently mentioned to me how the carpeting in her home really needed cleaning. I told her I'd pay for it and started getting some quotes from a handful of companies. I ended up choosing Distinctive Cleaning. I called my mother later in the day after the cleaners had been there and she was very happy with the results. She said the cleaners were happy to move a few pieces of furniture for her and even offered to move the couch. She informed me that they got rid all but one stain and she couldn’t believe how bright and clean the carpet looked. With my mom being 76, it’s nice to know there are businesses you can trust to do a great job without worrying whether they will try and take advantage of your parent because of their age. Thanks to everyone at D.C. and I'll definitely be using you in the future. more

Can you rate a company LESS than 1 star?!? I WISH to God that I would have read reviews before using this HORRIBLE INCOMPETENT company!! Hire them & they send someone who does NOT do what you paid for - then they'll give you the run around for a week, will NOT call you back & will NOT REFUND YOUR money! I even tipped the girl $10.00 because I STUPIDLY left before she was done! \r BEWARE ... USE this company & you WILL regret it!!! I even gave them 3 chances to do the job I PAID for ... because of timing - I was not able to give them 4 or 5 chances to complete the job.... bad news! \r And here is a great example of terrible customer service ... AJ told me she could not refund my money & she would have to speak to the owner about it ... she told me that because it was pay day - she would be so busy that she would probably ""forget"" to call me back & that ""I"" should call HER back after 2p. I would never use their service, nor work for their company! I can't tell you how awful it's been just know they exist! We will full you in later...Can't say know... Just know they are not the cleaning service to trust in your home! Keep looking! more

I had them out for the 1st time in September 2010 and was very impressed. Decided to use a second time, they did such a wonderful job, I signed up for biweekly cleanings, and its been a great decision! I have a clean home and don't have any worries. I am very happy I found them!!!! more

I hired Distinctive Cleaning to do a one time cleaning of my home. With school starting I wanted everything done. I have never used a cleaning service before and I will not recommend them (Dist. Clean.) to anyone! She showed up 45 min. late, didn't dust evrything they say they do, ( I was home when she was cleaning). Forgot to to the grout in the shower, dust the ceiling fans, computer keyboard, picture frames, windowledges, & I could keep going. The main reason I hired them was because I have a tall entryway window ledge I cannot reach. In the ad they said they do high dusting, when I asked her about it she said her high duster broke and they hadn't replaced it yet. So no matter what someone had to come back again another day. The young woman seemed lazy and wanted to do the least amount of work as possible. If it looked clean aready she didn't do it. Also she had zero ""green"" products to use. When I emailed the office about my satisfaction they made it sound like it was one in a million she did a bad job. I was excited to have someone else come back and really clean. Guess who rings my doorbell the same girl that did an awful job the first time. AHHH Her high duster was a joke I still had to carry in the 8ft ladder from the garage myself or she coudn't do the window ledge again, after I had emailed them the highth of the window! Also their vaccuum is pitiful as well. She quickly went over the stairs but did not do corners or edges. I feel like this was a waste of my money. I will not use them ever again. I hired Distinctive Cleaning a few months ago to help me out as I am a really busy mom! We set up regular cleanings (bi-weekly) and they are just great!! I have had past companies come in and when they would dust they would pick things up and not put them back where they went! That was a big pet peeve of mine! Distinctive Cleaning came in and was very professional and cleaned my place very good , spotless! They put things back where they went too! I am a very happy customer. I used them for about a year on a biweekly basis. I tried another franchised company in hopes of saving money. Well Distinctive Cleaning may be a few extra dollars but in the end they know what they are doing. If you have ever had the run around with other services you will know where I am coming from. I will not be trying a different service again to save a few dollars because Distinctive Cleaning shows up and does the job they say! Pros: They are a good all around service more

We have had them for almost 2 years. The scheduler kinda does her own thing without our input. We hired Destinctive Cleaning because they said they could give us the same cleaner every week and be done at a specific scheduled time each week. They have not held that promise. Not to mention, ever call us when the cleaner will be late. We spend alot for this company and honestly they really treat us like a number. Not personable. They have not really cared about what we need. I am not even sure we ever had a lengthy conversation with the office at all. It appears to not be the office thing, customer service that is. If you hire them, make sure you get it in writing what you're agreeing to and also double check every single thing you want done, as the work was very spotty. Pros: at the end of the day, none Cons: poor cleaning and worse customer service more

I was really happy with the service I received from this company. Good cleaners are hard to find, and good customer service is even harder to find these days. Was called on a Friday for a Monday apointment reminder. I asked to change, and was told there would be a $35.00 fee as it was only 24 hours notice, as weekends didn't count. Of course, why call? They had direct access to the home without me. I did not change the appointment. Happened again the next month, and I wanted to wait, but again, they were inflexible. I told them to charge me the $35.00 (they did), and to cancel the service. I received a follow up voicemail that suggested 3 times that we should be able to solve the problem by being 'adult'.
