Why I will keep going back to Texas 7/24/2002

Chuy's has several locations in Austin and Houston. I can always depend on it for awesome enchiladas, ""Big as Yo' Face"" burritos, and some of the best margaritas ever. Sometimes I get cravings for their creamy jalapeno dressing since I can't find it here in Chicago. Definitely a must-eat for out of towners. This is classic Austin-style Tex-Mex! more

A side of Hatch Green Chile sauce please 7/24/2002

I have traveled to New Mexico, Old Mexico and all over West Texas trying to find just one restaraunt that can top Chuy's Hatch green Chile sauce. It is mostly a waste of time and money for the best is right here in Austin. Made from hatch green chilis imported from Hatch, NM this stuff goes great with chips, or on Elvis Fried Chicken and of course the Chili Relleno. This combination of great ingredients and wonderfull majic in the kitchen by talented chefs is impossible to find, and I have really searched hard. Finish off with the Senior Rita and you are good to go! more

weird in a good way 7/22/2002

Chuy's is a favorite of mine and my family. We always take out of town people there because it's so classically Austin with its eclectic and almost excessively odd decor. I've never had a bad meal there, and their texas martinis are awesome. It can get pretty loud, so I wouldn't say it's romantic, but I think it's the best tex-mex in Austin. Pros: inexpensive, good, strong drinks, yummy enchiladas Cons: crowded, noisy, service just ok more

Excellent 7/21/2002

This place rocks! I have eat'n here many times and every time it was awesome. The food is great, the employees are friendly, and there's never a dull moment in the building. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Food, Friendly People Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a more

I wanna be like Lance 5/16/2002

If Lance Armstrong says it's one of his favorite places, well darn it, that's good enough for me. This is a good place to grab some quality Mexican food. And the ritas taste good too. I like all the fish on the ceiling, and there's plenty of people watching. The staff is mostly attentive, but beware during a wait. more

  • In Short
Chuy's is always crowded, with most patrons sipping strawberry-flavored margaritas or Coronas at the bar as they endure the seemingly required 30-minute wait. A typical mix of...
