Does Not Meet Expectations 3/30/2007

We love the French Laundry and decided to try Bouchon. The service was very good and generally friendly, the menu was quite difficult to read. We and the couple at the next table kept on asking each other what was on the menu - at least we had fun with it. more

Highly reccomened 3/21/2007

I read many reviews on Bouchon as there are so many French options in Vegas. I was very happy that I chose to dine here. We were seated right away and the server was very friendly. Started out with two dozen mussels which were a great value. 2nd course was the app special, escargot, it was very nice. I went with a special again for my main course and was very pleased. Just a month ago I ate at the Effiel Tower rest. in the Paris hotel....I would say this was 90% as good as that meal for 50% of the price. Very good value compared to other offerings in Vegas. With so many choices in Vegas it's hard to return to any place but I will reccomend Buchon and even dine here again on my next trip. Pros: Great service, Great Food Cons: Could use a few more wine selections by the glass more

Great food and great service! 3/5/2007

I took my girlfriend to Bouchon for dinner as part of a weekend Vegas trip for her birthday. When making the reservation, I asked for a quiet romantic table and mentioned the birthday occasion; the staff did not dissapoint. They sat us at a large and comfortable booth which was also in a relatively quiet part of the restaurant. We ordered the ""petit plat"" of seafood along with soup and salad and everything was fresh and rich in flavor. Without making any request, they then brought out a spread of deserts for us to celebrate the special occasion. I will recomend Bouchon to anyone looking for good food, good service and appropriately priced fare. Pros: Food, service and price. more

consistently disapointing 2/21/2007

No one could say I did not give it a fair shake. Based on the reputation of this restaurant I made a second 'forgiveness' visit with the same underwhelming results. Pros: Good service, good wine Cons: Food, value more

Wonderful dining experience! 1/25/2007

I saw Bouchon on the Travel Channel and wanted to check it out for myself. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the mussels and olives to start along with the freshly baked bread. I had the salmon which was in a fantastic red wine sauce and my sister had the sausage which she said was the best she ever tasted. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Pros: Freshly baked bread Cons: Hard to find in the hotel more

Worst dinning experience ever 1/1/2007

My wife and I are French food lovers and decided to try to this place out. The decor was beautiful so it was pleasant initially. After sitting down, the waitress asked us if we wanted flat water or sparkling water. Since both of us don't like Evian water, we just wanted tap water so I said flat. We were suprised when she pull out a bottle of Evian water but decided to let that go. more

the perfect breakfast 12/23/2006

my boyfriend and i had breakfast at bouchon before heading back home and even though i really enjoyed it, he wasn't as impressed. first, the service is impeccable. our coffee was poured so discreetly that i didn't even see the waiter. little bread rolls were brought to our table straight out of the oven on a cloth napkin, with butter and jam of course. we also ordered the baguette, which came out piping hot wrapped in a paper sleeve, with nutella spread - yum! i ordered the croque madame - grilled ham and cheese on brioche with a fried egg on top, all covered in a mornay sauce, and pomme frittes on the side - and my boyfriend had the signature french toast. the mornay sauce, whatever it is, was light and went really well with both the ham and the frittes. the french toast was more dense than expected and not at all hot, more lukewarm than anything else... it was just okay. next time, he'll order the corned beef hash and eggs, which is always a great way to measure a restaurant's worth, breakfast wise. all in all, though, i'd say this was the perfect way to end our vegas trip =) Pros: warm bread and butter and jam, service, ambience Cons: warm food rather than hot more

Expensive and worth it 12/21/2006

We visited on my wife's birthday and experienced a little trouble locating and getting to the Venezia Tower where this restaurant occupies the top floor. This is world-renowned chef Thomas Keller?s French bistro that swept the 2005 Las Vegas Life Epicurean awards by winning in four categories ? Best French, Best New Restaurant on the Strip, Best Restaurant on the Strip and Best Restaurant. The restaurant has a warm and elegant atmosphere including rich wood paneling, a handcrafted pewter bar, boldly patterned mosaic floor tiles and antique light fixtures. A table on the outdoor patio overlooking the gardens and fountains would have been perfect had the weather cooperated. more

One of the best restaurants in Vegas! 11/22/2006

I have been to a lot of the acclaimed restaurants in Vegas but this is one of the best, in my opinion. The ambience is not as over the top as some of its other famous counterparts but I really appreciated the understated elegance and delicious food. Prices are quite good considering the quality of the dishes. Definitely worth a visit! Pros: Great food, pretty reasonable prices Cons: If you have a large group you'll probably have to wait for a table more

Nice lunch 11/8/2006

I think that given the price and the bistro style of food that lunch might be the target time for Bouchon. I really loved the atmosphere of the place, kind of open, light -- quite a departure from a lot of places in Vegas. (It's noisy there though.) Three of us ate there for lunch. One had the poulet roti, which was as good as I've heard about. The frites were really good, maybe not the best that I've had, but really good. I had the trout, which was subtle and nice. The third party member had the omelette of the day which was short rib and mushroom -- not the best omelette I've tasted (yes, I nibbled at everyone's plate) but very good. The bread on the table was excellent. I also had the soup of the day, which was a butternut squash with brown butter and creme fraiche. Yummy. Dishes tended to be around $16-25 at lunch time, so I would say it was a pretty good deal too (by Vegas standards). more

A great French cuisine experience 10/22/2006

Bouchon is a great way to experience French cuisine in Vegas for reasonable prices. We had the salmon tartar, skirt steak, trout almondine (beware, the head is still on the fish), and of course their pommes frites. Everything was excellent. Make sure you have reservations on the weekends. The service was great. The only drawback was that it is a little noisy, but it is not enough to be disruptive. If you want it to be a romantic experience, request a table away from the bar area. more

One of my favorites 9/15/2006

I've been to Bouchon for both brunch and dinner, and had wonderful experiences both times. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, you can almost forget that you're in the middle of the Vegas strip when you're there. The wait service is kind and attentive. The food is fantastic, and not terribly overpriced. For brunch, I would strongly recommend their sourdough waffles with strawberries. I also liked that they make their mimosas with orangina - tasty! I would definitely come back here the next time I am in Vegas. Pros: ambience, great food, good service more

Decent although unsophisticated food, good service, Awful hostess/manager! 7/22/2006

I had made a reservation 3 weeks in advance at Bouchon Las Vegas, expecting an excellent meal based upon the reputation of Thomas Keller and the reviews on this website. However, when the hostess assigned my family and I to our table, we were placed at the worst table in the restaurant; even the other hostess who took us to our table looked shocked when hearing the name of our table, especially knowing that we had made a reservation and had requested a table near the window! The restaurant was only half-full with several tables available near the window, and the table I was taken to was next to the waiters' service station and the closest table to the kitchen entrance. I immediately asked the hostess to move to one of the open tables next to the window. She moved us, and we were placed at a table closer to the window, but still not next to the window. I later complained to the manager about being placed at the worst table despite my reservation; however, he essentially refused to admit the mistake of the hostess. My food (the mussels and lamb) was prepared well although simply, although my wife's steak was overcooked for her request of medium, and her mountain of frites tasted cheap (I agree with gotcpa). For the quality, the food was overpriced by $10. The waiting and bell service itself was impeccable, and I never felt as if I was being ignored, despite the fact that my head waiter had been attending to many tables (this might be the product of the competence of our individual waiter; I have heard that many others felt ignored for long periods of time). The ambiance was also satisfactory; there was a good view of the outside garden and pool and there were also high ceilings, although the inside decor was merely an upgraded version of what one might find at Bon Vie, or a much cheaper French bistro at a mall. Ultimately, my experience, otherwise quite pleasant, was ruined by a poor management team and overpricing. more

Best Restaurant I've Ever Been To!!! 7/18/2006

My sister brought me here for a sister's breakfast... I was skeptical; I live in Vegas, and it seems like every restaurant we have gone to on the strip, whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner, is overpriced for what you get. So, we went around 10 in the morning. When we walked in, we were greeted by the host. My sister has a little bit of pull when it comes to how we're treated at many of the hotels here in Vegas, so she asked the host if it would be possible to see the kictchen and talk to the chefs (she is a big fan of Thomas Keller, and although he was not there at the time, wanted to see who he has running his restaurants). So, they gave us a tour of the massive kitchen and all of the little pastry rooms. I just wanted to say that this is the CLEANEST kitchen I have ever seen (and I've seen my fair share). When we were seated, they had Bloody Mary's out on the table, with a bottle of Evian. Not two minutes went by when we were served with fruit parfaits, promptly after, they brought out a Sourdough bread braid with vanilla bean butter and cherry topping. While we were enjoying all of that, they placed a full tray of pastries on our table (chocolate croissant, bear claw, danish, etc.). We hardly had time to look at the pastries when THREE entrees were placed on our table (we only ordered two). Turns out, one of the chefs had sent out the third on the house. So, we ate poached eggs and toast, apple french toast, and sourdough waffles with strawberries... While we were eating that, one of the bartenders sent out Expresso Martinis. Absolutely everything exceeded my highest expectations for any restaurant I have ever been to. As soon as I drank a little water, there they were filling up my water glass. The ambiance was BEAUTIFUL, it was nice and full of light inside the restaurant. When we left, we gave the waitress a 50% tip, because she was such a great server. From now on, anytime someone visits, this will be my restaurant of choice. Pros: Atmosphere, service, cleanliness Cons: That there aren't more like it in Vegas more

Extremely disappointed... 6/17/2006

I have all of Thomas Keller's cookbooks and love them all. Our first time at one of his restaurants and heck, I could've made the same dishes...and better! I thought the price was reasonable, it was the service that really ruin the evening. We started out with one waiter who did not even tell us about the specials of the evening. We only found out about it when he was telling the two tables next to us! After he took our drink orders, a second waiter came and asked us for our drink orders (this only happens in small, moms and pops places). After our appetizers were delivered by the first waiter, he never came back to check and see how everything was. Our Evian water bottle was empty and he never asked us if we wanted more water. Then comes our entree, and our appetizer plates and utensils were never pre-bussed and it's been sitting there for at least 20 minutes! The waiter rushes over to clear up the table and brought clean utensils for me but not for my husband...and runs off again before we realized what happened! We sat there for a full 5 minutes trying to catch someone's attention to get some utensils before our food gets cold when we finally got the attention of a busboy! The busboy then went to get our waiter who brought the utensils without a word of apology! We could not believe it! Then after all that, my pork short ribs entree was so overcooked on the outside that I couldn't even cut it through with my knife. The whole outside layer tasted like pork jerky! By that time I was so upset that I couldn't even eat anymore and just sent the entree back. The manager came over and apologized and offered us free desserts. I asked him if he saw the short ribs and how burnt it was, he said he didn't even look at it! He didn't act surprise at all...it's almost like that food gets returned all the time! His careless attitude told me all I needed to know about the management over there. We turned down the free desserts and asked for the check. We will never be back. Pros: Ambience Cons: Service, management, food more

Great Food!! 6/9/2006

Bouchon was a welcomed dining experience with excellent food and service! I took my mom here and she absolutely loved it! more

Nothing Less Than AMAZING 2/2/2006

The service is unsurpassed, the food is otherworldly, and well french wine needs to adjective. I have dined several times at Bouchon for breakfast and dinner and now go to Vegas with the sole purpose of dining here. It's french but not so french that everything is unfamiliar. Hands down the best croissants in Vegas- no small feat. The fish is as fresh as you will find anywhere and the preparation is flawless. Pros: TASTE, SERVICE, DESSERTS Cons: too casual, too bright more

Food just OK 1/3/2006

We were looking forward to our night at Bouchon after reading all of the print and internet reviews. The ambience was beautiful. Sadly, the food was just OK. We ordered the steak & pomme frites and the trout. The steak was overcooked, and the fries tasted like McDonalds. The trout was tasteless... disappointed that the high point was the french bread. With so many great restaurants in Vegas, we wont be returning to Bouchon. more
