Every time they have just been wonderful and very accommodating in one case when I was in a rush. The place has a nice ambiance; it is a pleasant experience and one receives an excellent haircut while on is there. more

Yesterday was my first time to see Vanessa. I really, really liked her. She is very professional, but also very personable. We got along very well because we both have 4 year old boys, but she also did a fantastic job on my hair. more

The student did an excellent job on my "fried" hair. Appreciate the instructors guiding the process. First time - am referring y'all to others. more

As usual the treatment I received was more like going to a spa than a typical beauty salon. I tried to make enough of the time in my day so that I'm not rushed when going to Aveda. I usually rate all the students above average and am impressed by the professionalism of the staff. more

It was the level of service of a professional spa and salon at a fraction of the price. Plus, the Aveda products are fantastic. I will definitely be coming back! more

There was absolutely no one there the day i came in, i came to buy a few things, then decided i would try either my nails or a facial,decided to go with nails ( french manicure). The two girls upstairs desk, forgot i was there and i waited 20 minutes, when i finally went to desk one girl said " omg i am so sorry, i forgot" so she went to find the girl who did my nails and came back saying she would be here in a few minutes. It was another 15 minutes. Then once i went back to have my nails done,i was told the polish was state of the art and would last up to 3 weeks. It lasted 4 days. I was very unhappy with check in and felt the 2 girls at the desk did nothng but visit with each other. Not a good experience. Sorry. more

I have recieved pedicures, hair cuts, and a permanent wave. I had been going to an aveda salon and am a fan of aveda products. I have been impressed by the professionalism of the students and the high quality of services that I have recieved there more

I went to Aveda for lips and e/b waxing and a hair cut. Their facility is awesome. The young lady that took care of me explained everything she would be doing next, and took a lot of time. Probably for some, this could be kind of irritating, after all who doesn't know the entire process of waxing and that it could be done quickly, but for a mom with 3 beautiful children 5 and under who was taking a break to relax and breath, this was just phenomenal. I felt I was paying 100 bucks for the waxing, but not they charge less than the typical nail salon I was mentioning before. The prices for the quality of service you get are fantastic. Even though services are performed by students, they are supervised by their teachers who are right there in case of need. If you have time to be pampered and to allow yourself a relaxing long break, go for it! My hair cut is great. I have the most challenging type of hair in the world, lots of hair, curly, and coarse. I felt so important as I saw how the student brought in another student with more experience with my type of hair and also the teacher. It was for sure a team effort and I am so grateful of how resourceful this student was and how important for her was that I was totally satisfied. more

Celia was very sweet and made my color look exactly how I wanted. That very rarely happens... actually the only times it has happened in the last year are the 2 times I have been to the Aveda institute. Love this place. Stacey at guest services also does a fantastic job. She is very nice and knowledgeable. more

The customer service here has gotten worse and worse as time has gone on. The lady behind the counter that "helped" didn't even smile and when the main door was locked and I couldn't get she rolled her eyes in annoyance with me bc I didn't know I used the wrong door. That is not how you treat ppl! They call themselves the "Aveda" institute but don't ever partipate in any Aveda pure privilege giveaways. Using their name when convenient and not when it benefits customers What a waste! more

The experience was satisfactory. The color application was a bit sloppy. When my student was corrected, he only followed those instructions while his Team Leader was present. My hair was very knotted during the application process, he also tugged my scalp quite a lot. I didn't mind because I have a "tough scalp" but I could see where another person, one with a sensitive scalp, would not have enjoyed it. The overall coloring process took took too long, I arrived at 10:15 and did not leave until 1:15. Because I had another appointment at 1:30 I chose not to have my hair blown completely dry/styled and opted to forego a hand massages. If I had stayed for the full treatment, I would have been at the Aveda Institute around 3.5 hours. more

I've been to Aveda Institute Austin about 5 times. This was the most enjoyable visit yet. I got a shampoo, a facial, a hand massage, and a great haircut. My stylist even rinsed my hair at the end of the appointment. My stylist commented on how she likes my hair color (without mentioning the flecks of gray) and that I've got great finger nails. She was by far the most personable stylist I've had yet. It's too bad for me that she graduates in January, but at least I will be able to get one more haircut from her and she said she'd find me a suitable replacement for her. Thanks for such a great haircut, etc. I'm sold. more

After a nervous beginning with my assigned esthetician, I was assigned another one. That wasn't a problem for me, I understand. However, I don't think she was even ready for working on paying clients. I would suggest that the school adopt a no talking policy beyond the glass doors. I would also suggest that only the working esthetician and educator be in the room. There was someone in the room getting some stuff and it was very unrattling for me. The sound really carries on hard wood floors or tile, so the clomping around, talking laughter made the experience not relaxing whatsoever. My previous experience, 30 min facial was much more relaxing and quieter! more

I had a second appointment at the Aveda Institute (Austin) for dimensional color on 11/17/11. The student who took care of me was Valerie S. By making sure she had her teacher's input when she was unsure of something, and by telling her teacher what I'd explained I wanted -- the combination of communication and the determination to get it right resulted in color I'm delighted with! (That was not the case in my very first visit to Aveda about two months prior. The highlights were far more subdued than what I'd shown student and teacher that I wanted.) Valerie was completely committed to making sure I had a great result, and showed a confidence overall that I appreciated in her comfort level in general with doing what she is doing. Valerie gave me a couple of great tips re: closing of hair shaft, and mentioned a couple of technical topics that made me think she must be one of your top students. I'll see her again on 1/5/12! -- Sassy 50-something more

My first visit to Aveda was awesome! Tracey did an excellent job on color and cut. She was monitored throughout the process by several instructors, but the work was hers. I highly recommend her. The overall experience was good--nice, relaxed but professional atmosphere. more
