Ended up happy, but pretty nervous during appointment 2/10/2012

This was my second Aveda experience. My first was to get an updo which was absolutely fabulous. This time I came in to get my hair lightened. I have never touched my hair with chemicals before so I was already nervous, and then the first thing my girl said to me was, "I've never done this before and I was going to give this appointment away because I didn't feel like working after lunch, but I figured I needed the experience." Um, not too reassuring. She proceeded to silently ignore all the instructions her teacher gave her about how to put the product in my hair. Luckily the color came out great and I am really happy with my new hair. All I can say is, thank God for the two fantastic teachers who watched this student like a hawk. I will definitely be coming back to Aveda (it's soo inexpensive), but not to this girl. more

Love This Place 2/6/2012

The atmosphere at the Aveda Institute is beautiful; I was pleasantly surprised that I felt like I was in an actual salon. I found that the students truly care about giving you the haircut/color you want; I got a better haircut here than any place I went to before where I paid $50 or more. I highly recommend the services here! If you are concerned about the added time of the service b/c it is a teaching environment, ask for a Level 2 student to speed it up. more

Short haircut 2/5/2012

My last visit to Aveda was very enjoyable. The student cutting my hair took extra time to make sure I was pleased with my cut. I asked that my hair be heavily textured and when he was finished I asked that he go back thru to do more. I am very happy with the haircut and he even showed me a new technique to applying my styling clay. It works so much better. Thank you D.... more

the stylist was very pushy and a very no-it-all. She said that everything the previous stylists as well as the instructors who told me to buy a specific product were wrong and didn't know what they were talking about. Very confusing and very unprofessional. more

Love Aveda Institute!! 2/2/2012

I've been to the institute five times in the last year for haircuts. I was hesitant at first since I have curly hair that often has a mind of its own. All experiences have been phenomenal! Each student has their own style and all are very meticulous and focused on giving you the best cut. The instructors ensure each cut is completed with the highest quality. I'll be going here for a long time! more

never again..Iv'e given aveda over 15 hours of my life 1/30/2012

my last aveda experience was the worst. After five hours, my roots are lighter than the rest of my hair. My usual stylist has cancelled on me three times. The front desk staff seems totally aloof and not concerned about the customer. I am not going back ever again. I would rather pay $200 and up for peace, friendly service, and a guaranteed nice hairstyle. more

Experience with cut/color 1/27/2012

the service from the student/tech was good as far as her skills but she lacked social skills, I always get irritated by the lack of professionalism when I go there, the students are pretty juvenile, I don't appreciate you chatting with other students while you're doing my hair & ignoring me. more

Color Service 1/27/2012

I went to get a color correction (going from bleach blonde to Red Violet) and my hair specialist was fantastic. She was very engaging and knowledgeable about products. The time went by quickly considering all the work they had to do on my head. I've gotten alot of compliments on my new color and cut. Great job Aveda Institute Austin! I will definitely be going back! more

Best haircut 1/25/2012

I went to Aveda last week to get a haircut and I was blown away. The lady who cut my hair, Mindee, was so friendly and talented. She did exactly what I asked her to do and took extra time to make sure everything looked perfect. I will definitely return to Aveda and I've already told all my friends they need to go. more

Another Great Service! 1/24/2012

I have been to Aveda Institute several times, and once again was very please with the turnout. The student was very competent and had excellent guidance from her instructor. What I liked most about my experience was the confidence confidence the student had in her abilities and her reassurance that it was looking great. And it does look great! Thanks again! more

I love your place and service. I have been to your place twice and plan on returning. Nancy is a great beauty stylist and consultant. She knew exactly what would look good on me. That is a good thing because I would probably be there all day looking at pictures. Great job Nancy see you in March. more

Jamie is Awesome!!!! 1/23/2012

I went in to get a color done Saturday-as soon as I saw Jamie's hair I said I want mine just like that! She made that happen!!! I am so in love with my hair it is great! You can see the passion that Jamie has for hair and it shows on her customers! This is my second visit with her and I continue to make follow up appointments with her! more
