I've been coming here on a regular basis for over a year, and I feel like service has recently become inconsistent and gone downhill. My most recent experience was awful, and the two visits before a little sketchy. It is a school, and therefore a learning environment, but the instructors lately seem spread thin with too many students and aren't able to give the inexperienced stylists the attention and guidance they need. This is starting to get a little scary when they are hovering over you with hot styling tools, chemicals, and scissors. In the past I've never been concerned about the experience level of the students because the instructors have always been close by, but this has really changed. I'm so disappointed because I love the environment, love the Aveda products, and I used to think this was a great way to save money while being a really fun experience to have a student learn by cutting my hair (it's long and grows back quickly.) Six months ago I would have given it five stars and recommended it to everyone, but I'm not sure now if I'll even be back. I did write a detailed survey, and know a couple other friends who I've referred in the past and now feel the same way as me, so hopefully Aveda will heed the advice of their clients and fix their problems.
