My stylist recommended a hair styling product that I had not used before. He told me (right in front of the checkout clerk) that if I tried it and did not like the results, I could bring it back during my next appointment and return it. I tried to exchange it for a product that I usually use...that I know works for my hair. And The Aveda Institute refused my exchange...I even tried to talk to the manager and director. They both claimed that they have a very strict return policy of 2 weeks. So, they should definitely be training their stylists to make us all aware of this STRICT policy. I ended up walking out with that product that I am never going to use. By the way, I recently moved to Austin and I have been going to Aveda salons and using Aveda products for years! I told them this, but they didn't care. Well...they lost a customer. In summary, be sure to think twice before buying Aveda product from the Aveda Institute in Austin. They obviously don't teach customer loyalty along with the service. They basically lost a loyal customer over a $22 bottle of hair styling gel. Really? On a positive note, I found Avant Salon downtown on 5th St...they use Aveda products and they have AMAZING service! Goodbye Aveda Institute...Hello Avant! :)
