Review content:
I think this shop has been in the neighborhood so long that they feel like they don't need new customers. Went there a few months ago to find a new perfume. Actually had been looking forward to it the whole week. I was going to spend my whole day doing nice things for myself. Shopping at this store and finding a new perfect scent was one of them (normally go to Sephora but they're much further away). Went to Memphis Fragrance and told the lady there I was looking for a gourmand fragrance. She didn't seem to know what I was talking about. She asked me what I wanted to smell. I repeated ""do you have anything gourmand, or what about something spicy"". I'm really excited at this point and really upbeat. She began to show me different scents, maybe about 3 or 4, but none were gourmand OR spicy. They were all florals! Every single one! So I started just asking for scents. They are behind the counter, so I would just ask to smell this or that. After doing this 3 or 4 times, she started to get short with me. She said ""you don't like anything"". I laughed thinking she was joking. (but realized she wasn't by the look on her face). So I asked again, ""well do you have any gourmands, like scents with a vanilla or amber base. Something similar to angel or pink sugar. She then showed me another floral!! Another customer came in so I just started to smell what was on the counter so that she could wait on the other customer. Then she turned to me and told me to ""go away"". It was such an odd thing to say so I looked at her to see if she was joking again, because I couldn't believe she would actually be that rude. She said she wasn't joking and that I needed to leave because I couldn't find anything and wasn't going to buy anyway!! What????!!!! I felt the need to defend myself and just said that I was looking for gourmands and you were showing me florals. That's all. She raised her voice and said ""I can't help you, just leave"". I really felt bad at this point. I've never ever been to a retail shop and been treated or talked to like that. I left feeling dejected and the day that was supposed to be fun and just for me, turned sour and cold. I actually cried when I got in my car. I'll never go back to this place. Save your money, go to Sephora or Ulta or shop online!!! You'll find a larger selection, much better service, and even better prices than this poor excuse for a fragrance shop!! Pros: Nothing at all to like about this store Cons: worse customer service ever and limited selection
