Review content:
I agree with Eatoutgirl 110%. To call Milano's a resturant is a bit of a stretch. There were 8 people in our party and the service was 4 steps below McDonalds or Burger King. The place was almost empty (we thought it was because of the rain outside), and our reservation to be seated was a little on the late side. The promised valet parking service was non-existant, we had to find a parking place for ourselves. It was a good 20 minutes before we saw our waitress. She gave us the opinion that she preferred to take only drink orders. The menu did not look like any Italian Resturant menu I had ever been in either in the USA or Italy. I have lived in Europe for over 5 years and have visited almost all of Italy, including Milan. The menu was about 25% Italian foods and the rest were at best some kind of experimental Mediterranean/ Mexican/Asian/American Southwestern mix. There were absolutely no Italian comfort foods on the menu. They did not have scallops, calamari, and several other basic foods that a mediocre Italian place would have. The daily specials were reduced to only one, a veggie rice dish with an mid-Eastern touch. It took the waitress about 20 minutes to take our 8 orders. It was about 5 minutes later we got our drink orders and another 10 to get our ice teas and water (no ice). After about 15 more minutes we got a little garlic and olive oil mix with 2” round bread slices. The meal was served about 30 minutes later, after all the olive oil and bread was eaten, the waitress kept busy out of site and did not check on our table during this 30 minutes. One table had two guests come in and leave during this time without seeing the waitress. The meal was over priced and the quality and quantity was two steps below what I got in the Marine Corp mess hall back in the 1960’s. I had expected them to at least offer average quality for what we received and paid for that night. My recommendation is to walk another 50 feet and go to LaScala Resturant! The quality and service there are 4 star and the Italian food is superior, not to mention the little extras they offer! Milano’s is a night lounge for the local black hoods, not an Italian eatery. I gave them a single star because I could not give them less. Save your money, do not go here!
