This was a very interesting experience. Overall, I loved the look, feel & ambiance of Moxie. The person at the registration desk and the girl who washed my hair were great. That’s where my good experience ended. 1 - As a person with naturally curly hair, I was actually looking forward to seeing Zena. I thought she would be more familiar with my hair type and that this would translate into a better blow-dry & cut. 2 - I found that there was a definite language gap between myself and Zena. I was pretty clear on what I wanted (about an inch or 2 taken off my layers to clean up my cut and a bang trim) and by the end of our time (the blow out took a long time), with her next appointment waiting, she seemed to get irritated and cut WAY too much off my top layer which is now as long as my bangs. 3. My appointment was 5 and the next appointment arrived around 6/615 which doesn't seem like it leaves a lot of time for a wash, blow out & cut. 4. - Post blow-dry, I was advised that there is an extra cost for flat ironing services. Which was pretty amazing to me. I’ve never experienced that at a salon. It would have been nice to know that up-front. I ultimately didn’t get charged for it as the stylist could see my frustration towards the end of our session. Soooo, after this appointment, I have mixed emotions about the salon. I’d love to give another stylist a try but it’s always awkward going back to a place after a poor experience.
