If you are looking in the Jackson Heights, Queens (New York) area, I suggest using Mercedes as one of your agents. In the 3 boroughs of NY City & New Jersey, and looking at over 100 apartments over 2 years with different agents, she was BY FAR my favorite agent. She's specialized in JH for decades, is very low pressure, extremely friendly, without the sense of sleeze you often get in agents, & she represents some good property. Of course, in JH, you'll need to look with more than 1 agent, since not everything is on MLS. She's good too because she's been in the neighborhood for years, so people, rightfully, trust her & give her businesses (aka good properties). I always enjoyed seeing places with her, talking about the books she & I have been reading, and even though she brought me to a million places over a long span of time, she STILL kept me up to date & STILL didn't apply any hard sell techniques. I ended up buying in a different neighborhood, so regrettably, didn't end up using her. But I know she handled another friend of mine's closing. I wish I had been able to give her business myself. Another good agent/intro to Jackson Heights is Daniel Karatzas (he wrote a book on the area).
