This is a great wedding spot (and a pricey one) overlooking Lake Travis. The grounds, gazebo, and facilites are very pretty and elegant. My only complaint is the drive to get here - having people drink and have fun at your wedding and then deal with the winding, long drive back into Austin seems like a bad idea. But that's probably just me.....

Just when I was starting to tire of the Bath & Body brand, they start carrying other brands. It's a great decision for them considering they have to compete with places like Sephora - and their own products weren't always that great. I really enjoy shopping here now - the other brands and kindy of upscalish and fun to look at, they're generous with samples. It's like a new store.

I've been forced to go to shows at Esther's Follies more times than I care to remember - for work parties, bacherlorette parties, etc. I understand it's supposed to be cheesy, but sometimes this seems like comedy to the lowest common denominator. I know I sound like a snotty grouch - but I just don't find Esther's Follies funny AT ALL. I might take my aunt there if she came to visit from her town of 550 in Pennsylvania. Other than that, I hope I never have to go back. Sorry.

The DKNY outlet tends to be where I find the most good finds - it's expensive enough to where an outlet makes a big difference in the price (usually), and the quality is still very good. I haven't noticed any clothing here that was made for the outlet, which makes me happy. I recommend it.

This store is a great place to shop for basics - jeans, t-shirts, and tanks are all always in stock and the prices are usually lower than a regular Old Navy store. Like other outlets, there are pieces that are made especially for the outlet, and the prices aren't that great (especially considering what you can find on clearance at the regular stores), which I find annoying.

Yoga Yoga is a super beginner friendly place to take a yoga workshop. They have several great locations with plenty of parking, and their schedules allow all sorts of people working all sorts of schedules to partake. I was very impressed with my instructor - she was very patient, helpful and kind. She stressed that yoga could be learned by anyone....even those not naturally flexible. And the tea they serve at the end of class is awesome!

Mothers Cafe & Garden is a pretty cafe with a pretty attached garden and patio, with an all vegetarian menu. On occasion, I've had some dishes that really seemed like they needed more spices and were a bit bland - I think their menu could use a shot of creativity. But overall, their food is nutritous, and very satisfying. Their waitstaff is laid back but helpful.

They have a lot of stuff. The staff is not that great at helping you track any of that stuff down, and they usually don't offer. Also, most of their stock is very overpriced - but if you're looking for 20 party hats the afternoon of you New Years Eve party - where else are you going to go?

I don't know much about Indian food, but I feel like this is probably some of the best in Austin. I've gone for dinner several times, and it's great to order a few dishes with friends and share. The drink menu huge, and the waitstaff is always sincerely pleasant and helpful. Also, they have a good selection of vegetarian dishes...always a plus for me.

There is a Thundercloud Subs near my current office and there was one near my former place of employment as well. It's hard to stay away - the prices are great, the sandwiches are so good, the ingredients are usually quality, and the staff is friendly. My favorite is the roast chicken sandwich - or anything with avocado. My only complaint is that sometimes the bread doesn't taste especially fresh - but most of the time that's not a problem.
