I have always liked Paper Traders for their selection of cards, rubber stamps, and craft items. They always have cute handmade cards you can't find in the chain stores. Located in 5th Street Market, it is a good shopping location. They have odds and ends like joke books, journals and uplifting items to place around your house. My teachers in high school used to go there to buy little stickers and rubber stamps when they graded papers. It's a nice, quaint store.

The Eugene Emeralds play at this stadium which is the only large baseball stadium in town. It has more of a little league feel than a major league, but it is nonetheless exciting. I've been to a few games there and you can get real close to the field and meet the players. They have a section where you can sponsor an event and put on a barbeque for friends and family. Eugene residents love to watch this team so it is a place to visit if you come to town.

Their membership is high-end and they cater to the business folks, so it is pretty pricey. But it is a good location in the business district, so if you like to workout during work hours, this is the place for you. They also have a nice restaurant at the top of the building, along with an event hall for banquets.

I always like walking into the Elephant's Trunk while I'm at the mall. Both young and old can enjoy browsing around and playing with the many displays of toys they offer. They do sell some games that adults would like, like Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit, but they mostly cater to young kinds. Their stuffed animal collection is massive, as well as their doll collection. The ET is known around town for being a top-notch toy store and it is very large, so you are sure to find what you are looking for, especially around the holidays.

I like how they have older books, so they are cheaper than buying brand new ones. They also do sell-back so you can exchanged ones you have read for new ones. Rare and out of print books are also generally available, or can be ordered. I'd definitely browse here before you go to the larger chains.

Echo Hollow Pool is out in west Eugene and caters to both new swimmers, as well as houses swimming events for high school competitions. They offer a nice sized olympic pool and they hold classes for beginners. Check for schedules, but it should be easy to find lessons. It is also a fun place to watch swim meets because of the large facility.

The Bijou is a great place to see independent films that are not seen in large movie theaters. It is a converted church so the architecture is amazing and creates a somewhat spiritual ambience. The movies are cheap at night, only $3. They often showcase cartoons and film fest shorts which you can never see at mainstream movie houses. The Bijou is a definite must when travelling to Eugene.
