Daniel Chester French House 8/19/2005

This delightful house was the house of Daniel Chester French, one of America's most prominent sculptors. The museum traces the artist's work from lesser known commissions to his most famous one, the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The museum is well organized, and the work and history of Mr. French are very well presented. Most importantly, as this was the artist's own private residence, one gets a glimpse into how the artist lived and worked, and especially the grand scale that his projects were done on. more
