Not About Food or Koffee but an Experience 1/5/2006

Very fun for the college set or those with a good sense of humor and adventure. A group I know of liked to pick a huge round table because it slowly turned as you sat so suddenly you look down and someone else's coffee is in front of you, I also heard something about a shrinking table, so this is a fun place. Probably not the place for a business meeting, or who knows. The resident mannequin in the bathroom sort of shocks you so I will warn you ahead of time. They have live music so it is more about entertainment not #1 for coffee or dessert. more

One of My Portland Favorites 10/7/2005

Rimsky's is one of my favorite cafés in Portland, and the environment has much to do with its appeal. The desserts and drinks are standard coffee-house fare, but the atmosphere is unparalleled. Most weekends there can be a bit of a wait, but in my opinion it is well worth it for the live music (often classical) and interesting co-coffeehouse inhabitants. When friends from out of town visit, Rimsky's is often one of the first places I take them -- for me, it sums up so much of what I love about Portland. more

Interesting 8/20/2005

It’s an interesting place, located close in to down town Portland. It’s a lively atmosphere but be prepared for a crowd and a wait. I once had to wait close to 20 minutes for a seat and another 15 for an order. It’s a fun place that is distinctly Portland, and the crowd and atmosphere make it worth it. more
