This small maritime museum is great. I stumbled upon the museum while waiting to take the Ferry across the river to the Adventure Aquariums in Camden. I had lots of questions and the staff was extremely kind and patient. The place was not crowded. Bathrooms are clean and there is a cute little museum shop. My kids really loved the first floor exhibits of shipbuilding, history of the Philadelphia port and hands on exhibits. We didn't have time to visit the ships or the museum's second floor, but we will definitely be returning, perhaps combining a trip here with a visit to the Battleship New Jersey. i was pleasantly surprised at how interested my 6 and 8 year olds were in the exhibits. Definitely worth a trip back!

This is a museum on the Delaware River. It is all about the maritme history of Philly. They have a submarine and a ship for you to explore. They have special exhibits all the time and tall ships and other types of ships visit and you can tour them and take amazing photos. You can learn what it was like to come to America on a boat, or about ship building. There is some cool art and a great shop. This is in a great area of the city too.
