Dahlia has amazing one-of-a-kind jewelry, and I love going in to look. The pieces are very colorful and sparkly, many with flower motifs. They also sell scarfs, purses and other accessories. They also sell items and accessories related to Jewish religion and culture. (I’m not Jewish and it’s not unwelcoming at all.) A friend gave me a hair clip from Dahlia, a purple sequined flower, which is stunning. Their items are not pricey considering their uniqueness, but I must admit, still often out of my budget. (As a price comparison, the hair clip was about $25).

I always like to stop into Zipperhead when I'm in PA. I got my first (and only) Doc Martens there, even! They have the standard "punk" store staples: size 0 clothes for women and girls, men's clothes, stickers, t-shirts, rings and chokers. Definitely worth a trip to check out their selection!

SOTA is a great place all around. I can't walk by their Antique Row shop without at least stopping to see what's new outside or in the window, and it's the first place I go when I want to buy a special, unique gift for someone.
The shop offers a wide variety of artisan-made, well, everything--photo frames, puzzles, dinnerware, jewelry, yarn decorations, wall decorations, clocks, wind chimes, coasters, bookmarks, ornaments, stamp dispensers, business card holders, vases, contact lens holders...well, you get the picture. I've bought gifts here for adults of all ages--college to elderly.
The prices are great for hand-crafted goods, and the quality of the items is phenomenal. If you want something cheap and tacky, this is not the place to go.
The owners are really friendly, and even though I only pop in once in a while, they always remember that I've been there before.
Basically, go here if you want to find something memorable and useful to give someone. You won't be disappointed.

I'm not sure what delicate hands you have used to shipped your artwork before but if I had original artwork with glass I wouldn't want the glass to break and puncture the piece. Furthermore i know that ups, dhl, and FedEx all have insurance up to 100 dollars that comes with the shipping cost and a few cents over that if its more. As for the kinkos option I'd feel much better talking to guys at Taws with a brain than to give my work to those underpaid FedEx's robots that look like they have something better to do. At Taws I feel like I'm family and they actually remember my name (sometimes). I love you Taws.

Beadworks Beads and Jewelry Supplies has a great selection of beads and anything else that you may need to make that great and unique piece of jewelry. This shop has beads of all types, styles, colors, shapes and sizes. There is a rather nice collection of metal beads too. The inventory is always changing here, so if you see it you should buy it because it may not be there later. I also like the accessories that they offer. There is only 1 shop in the area but there is a website that is a great resource for the bead lover.

i had to post a positive posting about this place cuz the staff is superfriendly. Think of a fabric store in the city. I found the prices to be rather high, but the friendly service made it worth it. I dont think there is another fabric store in center city. Need to go past the italian market (fabric row) to get other fabric stores. They offer student discounts with valid id. not sure about the drapes!

When my kid sister asked me to take her to this horror of a store I agreed not knowing what I was in for. Let me start out by saying that this store + Roosevelt Mall = pure hell for anyone over the age of 18. This is not an adult area, it is a tween area. The stuff that this store sells is pure junk, overpriced junk to be exact. There are always a bunches of lil girls in the shop trying to look and act older then they are. I wonder if there parents look at what they look like leaving the house. The service is also terrible, I think that the cashiers think they're teenagers rather then grown women working in retail. One word... annoying. Avoid this place at all costs.

Warrior is an interesting place filled with interesting goods. If you're into Hot Topic then you'll love Warrior. They have some awesome finds, however their prices are not so awesome. So whether it's leather, vinyl, velvet, or spandex that you're searching for Warrior will have it. The fashions and accessories span groups and cliques, this is a store where the punks, goths, emos, alternatives and straightedge can all go and get along.
