I eat at a lot of asian restaurants, and I've never been to one that has left me feeling how Tea House did.
I wanted to come back every day!
I don't know where to start! How about the vast amount of dishes, the authenticity of the Szechuan style dishes, the impeccable and prompt service, or the inviting atmosphere?
Take your pick, they've mastered it all.
In fact, I'm heading there tonight!
Don't punish yourself to eat at the greasy "Amerinese" restaurant that uses more oil than a boeing 747. Try the authentic stuff at a restaurant where the tastiness comes from spice rather than oil.
Pros: Everything!!! Flawless *****
Cons: NONE!

Wow, that sums it up. My partner and I were looking for a new seafood restaurant to try, and we saw the great ratings for Three Fish on Citysearch so we tried it. Driving up to it, we were a bit put off by the location (in the strip mall on Excelsior and Lake where Whole Foods, Chipotle, and Noodles are). But upon entering, it was like walking into an upscale bistro in Downtown. White tablecloths, rich colors, and friendly staff who made the specials sound delicious.
We were even surprised by the quality and presentation of the food, for the price we paid! For about $50, we got an appetizer of fruit and cheese (Delicious!), 2 entrees of seafood pasta (very fresh, beautiful, and just the right portion size), and my partner had a drink. We didn't have dessert, but they looked wonderful on other people's tables! My shellfish medly with linguini and garlic sauce was a surprising find on the menu, and my partner had jumbo shrimp with basil tomato sauce on angel hair. Um, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
It got a bit crowded about 7pm on a Friday night, so I would make a reservation. Trust me, this place will not disappoint you!
Pros: friendly staff, great food, right size portions
Cons: parking

Another stop on our dinner of the month "club" with friends, and another big success. This is the first place I've been to that actually reminded me of dining experiences in China. In other words, don't expect anything sweet and sour, or dumbed down for midwestern blandness. That means that if you're not an adventurous eater, some of the smells, flavors, and ingredients might be a turn off. Unfortunately, that means you'd be missing truly extraordinary dishes. Even my wife, who isn't very adventurous, loved just about everything. The menu lists over 150 items, many of which include pictures. Descriptions were accurate, and the servers were very helpful. I was impressed with how she had memorized the entire menu numbering. Dishes were presented beautifully and service timing was perfect. When we finished the entrees, we weren't rushed on, but given enough time to digest a bit so that we could have dessert (which were awesome). Go with an open mind, and lots of friends so you can share many dishes.
Pros: Delicious unique food, great service, good prices
Cons: None

The pizza is amazing, but the apps are killer! My husband and I love the carciofo and order as a carry-out meal on a regular basis. Yummmm! In my experience, the service is acceptable. Parking is hit-or-miss...just have to find a metered spot somewhat nearby.
Pros: carciofo
Cons: parking

This is one of my favorite spots for great-tasting Chinese food. I eat here 3-4 times a month! Everything on the menu is flavorful, service is prompt, and food preparation is quick. I've taken people who thought they didn't like "Chinese food" here before and they loved it. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: food, value
Cons: parking (must park across the street in the lot)

I recently found Rasa Sayang on citysearch. In spite of the previous review, I chose to visit the restaurant and was glad that I did. I enjoy many different types of cuisine and this place did not disappoint me. Don't let the location or building fool you. It definitely doesn't have much for ambience or decor, but the food and wait staff/owner is very enjoyable! We tried the Roti Canai, the Popia, the Nasi Goreng, and the Hokkien Char Mee - all were extremely flavorful. I personally prefer a little spicier (as opposed to Minnesota spicy), but if you make the chef aware of this, they can accomodate you. Definitely check this one out. We'll be back.
Pros: Flavorful food, Friendly owner, Inexpensive
Cons: ambience, decor

Acadia is located in the college-portion of Minneapolis. Obviously it is the students from the University of Minnesota that keeps them in business. But when I met a friend at Acadia for a lunch meeting, I was surprised to see the baby boomer crowd eating up this cafe. Not only that, but my meal came late, and the employee threw in a free root beer!
PROS: live music, good food (get the root beer!)
CONS: a little dirty, not much to look at

This is not "just like", it is the "real thing". Sometimes lunch (and shopping) at Sindbad's are the reason for my trip to the Twin Cities (from Sioux Falls).
Sammi is a great host.
When I was there with a 13 year old guest who was not as adventurous as her mom and who just wanted some rice, Sammi who wanted her to enjoy her meal, offered to get some soy sauce (her idea) from the chinese grocery next door. He was serious!
For dinner I highly recommend the lamb shanks, as good as I've ever had. Actually I recommend them anywtime.
