Abbott Northwestern Hospital

I miscarried at in the emergency room lobby at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, because the medical staff said they did not have room for me when I first arrived. When I first arrived I said I was 13 weeks pregnant, bleeding with severe abdominal pains that were unbearable. They said it's probably a bladder infection and made me wait for 2-3 hours while I was screaming in excruciating pain until they finally gave me pain meds (which did not relieve the pain) and did a pelvic exam. When they did the pelvic exam they saw that the fetus was stuck in the vaginal wall, which is why I was in such terrible pain (I thought I was dying). I might as well been in a third world country or out in a field and received the same courtesy and care as I did at Abbott Northwestern Hospital during my miscarriage on September 28th -29th, 2012. I am very disappointed and hurt by the medical staff for ignoring my pain and condition, which made my experience there much more horrific than it needed to be. more

My sister needed to have back surgery and Abbott Northwestern hospital was where the procedure was done. She was in good hands. The medical staff at Abbott Northwestern are highly recommended. The quality care she was given was absolutely fantasic. Don't let the facility location steer you away. The neighborhood may not be Edina, but it is safe and trusted by many who go to the hospital. Keep this on your list of places if you need it in a tough situation. more

My mother in law has been in Abbott numerous times. Everytime she has been there we have been blown away with the quality care she is given. From the nurses to the Doctors everyone is 100% attentive. A highly recommended hospital to trust your loved ones care in. The facility itself is not in the best neighborhood but it is very clean and has a great amount of security to keep their patients safe. more
