I love hiking at Chautauqua, so I want to love their dining hall just as much. Unfortunately, I can't say that I do. It's too bad, because their food is above average and very fresh. Their outdoor patio is very pretty and comfortable, so it should be a great treat to eat there.
But the service makes it not so. I've been there several times and I always get the feeling that I am an intrusion on their day. Once time I arrived early to meet with someone. Since I had few minutes to spare, I asked for a piece of cake. The darn thing took so long to arrive (15 minutes ) that I just receive it when my meeting folks arrived and I had to wolf it down so as to not have to eat in front of them. I had to ask for it three times before I received it. It was just cake and a cup of tea. At another lunch with clients, it was the same thing--our waitress looked put out as she brought us to our table and had the habit of disappearing for long stretches of time. When performing weddings there, I've heard the staff make it VERY clear to guests that they are not to congregate in certain spots that might impede the progress of staff getting from the dining room to the kitchen.
Ah! If they only had a clue and smile!

Color Me Mine is a great place to get away and lose yourself in some creativity! Go by yourself or with a group of friends and paint some pottery. They have a pretty good selection of pieces to choose from and a wide varieties of color. The staff is very helpful. It is a great place to make gifts for those "hard to buy for" people!

i put together a press kit for my band, involving my own specific needs:
- 8.5 x 8.5 square white envelopes (50)
- inkjet high quality photo paper (50)
- inkjet glossy paper (1/2 ream)
- reasonably nice cover letter paper (ream)
- paper compact disk sleeves (50)
i grabbed it all for $92, and it was really easy to make my choice. i was unsure about the paper, so they let me take home a few samples to try it out before cracking open the ream that i bought. it's a small, local company, too, hiding just north of arapahoe on 32nd street. hiding, though - going north, it's on the right, and somewhat easy to miss at 30mph.

I've been in and out of this church for decades and maintain hope that it will settle into an active, thriving and interesting community. Yes, there are always interesting people around there but sadly, it doesn't hold interest for a lot of people for a long time. Maybe UU's drift in and out too much, in general- but there is always hope.
