Worth the Extra Admission for the Night Tour! 2/26/2006

I love haunted houses, and this one is set in a gorgeous part of San Diego. The setting in Old Town makes it all the more authentic. This haunted house is scary, but still fun enough to make it ideal for all ages. Going at night makes it all the more scary, and it does cost more to take a night tour. You're probably only going to visit this haunted house once, therefore, I recommend you spring the extra money to go during the evening. The staff is fun and friendly at the Whaley House, and you can tell they're having just as much fun as the people touring. more

Haunted 1/15/2006

This is a fun “haunted house” located in Old Town. They offer tours of the house and have stories and legends regarding ghostly activity around the house. It's a fun tourist sort of thing to do in Old Town, but not really a place you would want to visit repeatedly. Admission is $5 during the day and $10 at night. more

Spooky House 1/13/2006

This spooky haunted house is nestled in the historic part of Old Town. Old Town is fun enough to visit on it's own but adding the Whaley house just makes it better. The Whaley house can be quite hokey but at any given time during the week you'll find classes of school kids taking the tour. It's an old tradition that even I remember doing. The place is quite haunted and if you get too scared you can walk down the path and grab a bite to it. more

San DIego's Haunted House 8/18/2005

The Whaley House is a historical house in Old Town San Diego. It’s supposed to be haunted, but I don’t believe in ghosts. They do have a book with recordings of ghost sightings in the house. The house has small bedrooms and a tight staircase, but it also houses a miniature theater, a courthouse, and a general store. It’s a fun tourist sight, but it’s a place you’ll only visit once. more
