I went on a whim, after moving to Austin TX, from Boston MA. I had spent a few months in Boston going to high end commercial and family owned jewelry stores, and being discouraged by the very high prices, and overwhelmed by the seemingly endless barrage of information. My circumstances were unique in that I had a family engagement ring that was given to me by my Fiance's Mother. My initial idea was to sell this ring in order to buy a new ring that had a different aesthetic, an antique design that I knew my Fiance favored. Malcolm offered his thoughts and came up with an idea for a custom setting that incorporated all the diamonds in the old ring. He hand drafted it on the spot, and came up with something truly breathtaking, unique, and meaningful.
