UT AUSTIN - Horrible, Overrated, Racist, and Prententious! 6/10/2010

The University of Texas at Austin is unbelievably bad, unprofessional, and unethical. The President of the university is an ex-board of director from the failed corporation Enron. That is only the tip of the iceberg. All of my courses are self taught. Therefore the professors are virtually over-paid useless babysitters that do nothing but pose and point. They utilize power-points most of the time. They even place them on blackboard. So you do not even have to attend class. The lectures themselves are insipid and draining. The assignments are banal and trivial. Most of the professors are pompous, low-class, and selfish. And they rarely emphasize the significance of their research. Often times the research of the professors are not significant and do not add value to the learning experience. The professors want to do as little work,do as little communication, and do as little teaching as possible. The university accepts students that will run on automatic. The students at the campus are care-free and defensive about the bad lectures and poor customer service. They care more about getting drunk with their alcoholic friends and passing exams that don't test over valuable subject matter. The system is engineered so that students don't ask the important questions or probe into any type of appearance of corruption or evil. The worst part about the university is the weed out process and discrimination process. They accept ethnic and racial minorities into the campus. But they accept the minority students with bad SAT or GRE scores. Therefore it appears acceptable and harmless when those students fail out or give up. Or at worst those students are unfairly labeled as slackers instead of placing the blame on the advisers for accepting students with poor scores that will not work out for the goals of the university. The university should only accept students that meet standard criteria instead of accepting students with weak scores and then having them mobbed out of their majors within the first two semesters. The classes are called ""weed out"" classes. They are meant to put certain students into shock with incredibly advanced and inappropriate work for the major. This is done in hopes that the minorities will leave. The university engages in ""mobbing out"" a lot of minority students. Minorities are accepted into the university to boost statistics. But because they are the wrong types of minorities with weak scores, they drop out or get retaliated against when they speak out against the corruption and poor quality teaching. Student-employees are used to help mob out or ""manage out"" so-called problematic minority students. Student-employees use very unprofessional manipulation tactics like ""You don't have to be here."" ""Why are you here?"" You don't have to come to class"" ""I'm not learning anything either. Therefore you don't have to show up if you don't want to"". Faculty and staff refuse to return phone calls or emails in a timely manner. They show up late to designated meetings. They try to start fights by shouting at those they dislike. They provide half-truths and false information. They distort information and lie through their teeth. They use abrasive sarcasm and cutting eye glances that would make any normal person feel abused. This is done all in the name of removing ethnic minorities from the campus while looking like holy Saints in the process. It is illegal discrimination. The token minorities and white Anglo employees and students will of course say otherwise. They even have excuses about the racial fragmentation that goes on in the campus. There are a lot of racists and homophobes that are in denial too. It is pathetic that these are the types of students that will soon graduate into the corporate world. Do we really need another Enron? Do we really need our economy to plummet even further? It's the UT Austin students of today that will ruin our future even further. Cons: bad customer service, poor teaching, and bad ambiance. more
