Life Storage - Boulder

I stored my stuff here last summer. My roommate and I did all the bells and whistles, and we were impressed with the security and layout of the facility. We were wrong. My roommate called me mid-summer and let me know that some vermin had made their home in our storage space. All of my stuff was covered in vermin feces and FILTHY. Also, the vermin destroyed a couch (with poo and other stuff), and I had to pay to dispose of it. The manager was an unwilling to help, even after threatening to report her to ""corporate."" Despite this company having a corporate backup, the complaint line is obviously never checked. Do not waste your time, money, and possessions on this self-storage space. I stored for less than a month for a very temporary move and when I went back to retrieve my things, my BRAND NEW mattress had not just one muse, but a whole family. The storage company refused to admit they had an infestation even after I showed the mattress to them. They were very rude and callous. Not to mention there were clear holes in the walls warranting the vermin to get into my mattress.\r Unacceptable conditions - USE SOMEWHERE ELSE! Pros: Convient Cons: RODENT INFESTATION!! more

I recently had the worst moving experience of my life because of U-Store-It. I accidentally broke the key in my lock about 2 weeks before moving out of the storage facility. I could have shopped around and arranged for a locksmith to cut the lock, but I was assured by the property manager that the ""corporate headquarters"" would be out to cut the lock (for free) on my moving date. However, when I showed up with my moving van, the same lady unapologetically told me that ""corporate"" would be unable to remove the lock until the next day. Since I had rented the truck, taken time off of work, and recruited my friend to help me, I decided to call a locksmith and was charged $150 because I was desperate to have the lock removed at the last minute. The property manager was completely apathetic to my situation and would provide neither her supervisor's nor the elusive ""corporate headquarter's"" contact information. I wasted several crucial hours and many dollars because this company is completely without accountability and motivation to serve the customer. I would recommend this business only to a person who is positive that they will never require the assistance of the management at their self-storage facility.
