I have lived in a total of eight different apartments in Austin and I have to say this was the absolute worst. When I signed my lease they were in the middle of renovating the complex, I was told everything in my apt. would be new when I moved it. My move-in day came and I had no toilet, no bath/shower and no A/C. That was in the middle of August, I was finally able to move in at the start of October. They gave me one month free and half off the next month. It changed management a minimum of three times in the year I lived there. After about four months there was no manager in the office at all, no maintenance personal could be contacted. In the middle of Feb during the freeze that shut down most of Austin one of the boilers in th complex blew and I didn't have hot water for close to six weeks. I contacted the corporate office and they sent over the maintenance manager, he told me I was at the end of the piping cycle and would just have to deal with it. I DON'T THINK SO. There were homeless people breaking into apartments all over the complex and narcotics were found everywhere. I feared for my safety. No the cherry on top. Due to the fact there was no manager in the office I contacted the new company in charge to give my notice to vacate, they claimed to not have a lease for me and that I never paid the last two months rent, I had check stubs. They wanted to show the apt and would be renting it soon I was told. Six months after I moved out I get a collection notice for $6000 from Ely Properties claiming I skipped out on my lease. I contacted the TAA and a lawyer and everything was worked out. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM ELY PROPERTIES, OR TYBRAY PROPERTIES AGAIN.
