Best Shop in Twin Cities 12/6/2010

This store was amazing from the moment I stepped into the store. The staff is upbeat and friendly and there selection was truly unbeatable. I found my dress after trying on a handful of gowns and fell in love with not only my dress, but my dress shopping experience. My consultant was so genuine and helpful. I would highly recommend this store to other brides to be. more

Worthy of trying 8/19/2010

Good: My consultant, Laura. Very kind, gentle, and patient. Great dress selection in various price range. Dropped a dress that I fancied to $250, by it today, right in front of my eyes. Tough to turn down!. Bad: It was busy, and the mirrors were shared by other people trying on their dresses.. more

Love My Dress 5/31/2009

I visited this store in hopes of finding my perfect dress and due to the help of my awesome sales lady, I did. I had been looking for quite some time and did not have any luck at 3 other shops. I brought in pictures of what I had in mind and my sales girl found the perfect dress that fit my body type and was within my budget. I loved this store. The selection was great and the staff was terrific. I would highly recommend this store to other brides. more

not very nice 3/27/2009

Good: the dresses and the house it was located in.. Bad: The rudeness of the people that worked there; I was admiring a dress hanging up (probably to be picked up by a bride) through the window on the front porch seating area, I walked around to the counter to ask the person what the designer name and style was, and she started yelling at me: "YOU CAN'T TOUCH THAT DRESS!!" "YOU CAN'T TOUCH THAT DRESS!" (I was nowhere near the dress, and wasn't dumb enough to put my dirty hands all over someone else's dress) I could not believe how rude she was for NO reason.. Improvements: Fire everyone that is rude (pretty much everyone that works there except the person who does the bustles). Other: I have heard horror stories from my daughters friends who tried on dresses that were the perfect size, only to have the people that work there insist on them ordering a larger size (so more money for alterations!!) and even though the bride said NO, I want the size I am wearing, it fits perfectly! THEY ORDERED THE LARGER SIZE ANYWAY, IT FELL OFF HER IT WAS SO BIG, IT HAD TO BE COMPLETELY TAKEN APART AND BY THE TIME THEY WERE DONE THE ALTERATIONS COST AS MUCH AS THE DRESS ($800). DON'T BUY HERE!!. more

Amazing Service and Selection 2/24/2009

This store was absolutely amazing. They couldn't have been any easier to work with. I purchased my dress, bridesmaids, and tuxedos throughout this store and was very pleased with the service and selection. I would highly reccommend this store to other brides to be. more

The Wedding Shoppe is the place to go 4/18/2006

I started by getting my bridesmaids' dresses at The Wedding Shoppe and then after receiving the best customer service ever I decided to get my wedding dress from the Wedding Shoppe too. I was a bit apprehensive at first, because I'm a plus size bride and the Wedding Shoppe was always filled with Barbie-sized brides, but the same representative that helped me with the bridesmaids' dresses was a plus sized girl herself and understood my concerns and took me after hours to pick out my perfect wedding dress. Not to mention she told me about an after hours sale and got me the dress for a GREAT deal!!! The alterations are a bit on the high end, but the keep your dress safe and sound until your special day and clean and press it for you prior to pick up. All in all I think every penny I spent at the Wedding Shoppe was well worth it considering all the wonderful services I received. more

Good selection, poor help 11/17/2005

This store has a fantastic selection of wedding gowns, but their service is pretty awful. I was with a friend as she tried on wedding dresses and she had pretty much narrowed it down to a style after the first store we went to. The woman kept pushing her to try on different necklines (which I would understand if she had not yet tried on any gowns, but that was not the case) and became very disgruntled when the bride said she didn't like that particular style on herself. After that she basically ignored us, only so show the bride cathedral length (and more expensive veils) when she really wanted a simple single tier, shoulder length veil. When we went down stairs to look at bridesmaid's dresses, we were completely ignored. The samples were horrible and the woman working didn't know what styles came in what colors and so on. It was a disaster. My friend did end up buying her gown from this place and it came in early, so that was good. She got a quote on alterations that was almost as much as the dress so she took it elsewhere. There are better bridal shops to go to than this one. more

A little cramped, but they have everything you could need 9/26/2005

This place is definitely not lacking in selection, but they could use a little more space. On Saturdays, you may have to wait over an hour to be allowed upstairs to try on dresses. They have a good selection of both bridal and bridesmaids dresses, but there isnt room to really browse the bridal dresses and you have to rely on the sales staff to bring dresses that you might like. I found the sales staff to be very helpful, even making calls to manufacturers to ask if they could acoomodate special changes. They offer discounts for cash and carry and for ordering a dress that they dont carry a sample of. There is also a great selection of miscellaneous items like cake knives, stationary, and purses on the main level. more

Charming Shoppe For Brides To Be 9/23/2005

I've had a bit of experience with this shop this summer, not as the bride, but as the bridesmaid. And here's what The Wedding Shoppe has going for them: -An amazing selection of dresses -A charming locale & store -A great selection of accessories, from candle holders to shoes, for the bride & bridal party -A wilingness to work with the "last minute bride", including the ability to rush order dresses -Reasonable prices, compared to other Twin Cities bridal stores (the same dress at another store was $40 more!) But here's what I found lacking -tact in the salespeople... I'm not exactly a stick insect, and when we were trying on dresses, the sales person commented on my weight telling me "well, this dress will look good even on you honey", and then later saying "well, you may be heavy, but at least you're proportionate, that will help in alterations & sizing". If you're looking for a shop that will serve you a nice cup of coffee, or give you bottled water, where the staff will charm you (even insincerely), and where the attitude is more contemporary then 1950's, this isn't the place for you. BUT, if you need a wedding dress shop that is flexible, timely and has a great selection, then The Wedding Shoppe will work for you. Just a tip though - their alterations department is STEEP! You're better off going elsewhere for your alterations.. AND, in the most recent wedding I was in, where we ordered the Bridesmaids dresses from there, ALL the dresses (all six of them) came in disproportionately too large. This meant that all the dresses needed altering. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I do happen to believe that they purposely order the dresses way too large to ensure they need altering. Just a thought. more

Nice Selection of Dresses 8/19/2005

I didn't purchase my dress at the Wedding Shoppe but I did stop in to look at accessories. The store is on Grand Avenue and has a nice selection of wedding jewelry, shoes, veils, and other accessories. The shop is very busy so I would suggest making an appointment. The dresses are located in another room and they have an on-site seamstress to do any alterations. I have heard good things about their dress services. more

finding the perfect dress is possible 8/18/2005

The wedding shoppe makes shopping for the perfect wedding dress fun. It is a cute little shop on Grand Ave that has a great selection. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful! What they don't have in stock they can order for you. I've had so much fun shopping with friends for dresses here. I highly recommend it. more

good selection 8/7/2005

The Shoppe is easy to shop: It has a helpful, down-to-earth staff .The Shoppe also carries handbags, tiaras, shoes, flower girl dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, guest books, pens, unity candles, etc. They have one to one consultation but the saturdays are very busy.It fitted my budget so we liked it a lot.staff here was very attentive and very helpful. I have recommended the Wedding Shoppe to others and they also have been impressed. more

An amazing number of dresses 7/28/2005

Be prepared for dresses before visiting this wedding gown shop. Their top floor is all bridal gowns and they have an amzaing selection. They also have excellent service up there. The girls are ready to help find gown, try them on, and adjust for fit. Their main floor is a tux shop and they have invitations, and other wedding items. The basement is full of mother and bridesmaid dresses and more great service. You do need to sign in to try bridal gowns and they only allow so many people up there at once, so there is sometimes a wait. I would suggest avoiding Saturday if possible. The two reasons I gave this 4 starts instead of 5 is they are only open two weeknights and they don't have an extensive selection of lower-priced bridal gowns. more
