My regular place - and i live in LA! 11/1/2006

I come to Portland on business every other week or so and the place that I stay recommended this spa for some body work that I was needing. I have never been more thrilled to have tried a new place out, I now go there every time that I am in town. They have fabulous monthly specials, deep tissue therapists (for real - not just the charging you more kind), and my favorite esthetician in the world. exceptional customer service 11/1/2006

I visited the dragon tree day spa about a week ago, and am already thinking of returning! From the moment that I entered the spa, a sense of peace and relaxation washed over me in response to the warm colors and beautiful decor. I was greeted in a friendly and prompt manner by the spa attendant who took plenty of time to show me around and assure that I felt at home. Then, after 30 blissful minutes in the sauna, I was introduced to Ginny, who, performed a delightfully memorable facial on me... my skin never glowed so bright! She did a great job and educated me on some products for my skin type. A little later, I recieved a swedish massage from Erin, who had a gentle yet very therapuetic technique. In one short hour, which usually flies by when given a massage, she was able to make some real headway in my upper back. Finally, I recieved a foot soak, which was utterly decadent. To summarize my experience at the dragon tree... it rocked! Great service, tranquail atmoshere, quality employees. Exactly what a spa experience should be. I will definately visit again. Perfect spa experience 10/8/2006

My best girlfriend took me to The Dragontree for a super needed spa day. We both had Element Infusions and it was EXACTLY what I needed. The whole set up was perfect, we were able to sauna before our foot baths and massage which was relaxing in and of itself, but every detail from the warm oil head massage to the fantastic showers was out of this world! It was my first time at this spa, I usually go to another Portland spa, but it is definately my new favorite and I will be back! Kind and beautiful 8/27/2006

The spa itself is absolutely gorgeous - decorated in an elegant, warm, and creative way. But, the real beauty of my experience was my therapists. Lila did my massage and she was excellent! She was able to really help my shoulder and was very sweet and professional (aka didn't talk too much) and then Ginny did my facial - I can't recommend her enough, she was gentle and amazing to my super sensitive skin. Best spa in the universe probably 8/7/2006

I moved here from San Fran where I got ton of spa treatments, and i've tried a bunch of great spas in Portland too but nothing ever compared to the spatastical experience I had here. A nice balance of luxury, simplicity, and healing. My lady that worked on me was super friendly and had amazing hands - the kind of person that you wish you could take home with you! I will definately be back! And . . . the person checking me out said that they are adding showers and saunas soon too! I can hardly wait (and I hope that it is true:) ) more

World of difference 6/28/2006

Went to Dragontree with my wife - I had been having severe back pain and she said that I should try getting a massage. She goes all the time to this place so we went together. It was real comfortable and easy to feel at home for me and the massage gave me tremendous relief. The girl that worked on me was skillful and communicated with me enough so that I got exactly what I needed. I might start making it a regular deal! more

I loved it. Loved everything about it - the vibe, the treatment, the whole experience is just wonderful. And the owner there is so sweet - and so young, and professional. 5 star experience 5/29/2006

I had a wonderful experience at this spa. The staff was courteous, skilled, and kind. My treatment was divine - a true afternoon of total relaxation. I left feeling like a giant weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I have gone back a few times already, and even had acupuncture from Peter who was very intuitive and sweet - he made me feel really comfortable it helped my shoulder and back pain tremendously. The atmosphere, the coloring, and the staff are warm and inviting - just what you want when you are going to take some time for yourself. The treatments and the decorating were beautiful, well constructed, and worth looking forward to - like a full moon on a summer evening - PERFECT. I will definately come back!! more

Heaven 3/27/2006

From the moment you walk in you can feel the stress melting away. The atmosphere is beautifully surreal and yet comfortable and welcoming. The staff was very attentive and kind. My therapist listened to my needs and checked in with me through out the massage. I just had a loss in my family and was feeling fragile and emotional - and my therapist was very in touch with how to hold a space for me to go through what I needed to while receiving a very needed, extremely relaxing massage. I will definately continue to go there, and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place of real healing and transformation. Thank you so much Dragontree. A gorgeous oasis 3/17/2006

What a beautiful space! I really enjoyed my massage by Matt at the Dragontree. The rooms are all decorated just beautifully and the massage tables are heated, which was fabulous. My massage might as well have been the "deep tissue" because Matt really let me have it, which was fine with me, but might be a little too deep for some customers. I will most definitely go back, it was gorgeous, peaceful and wonderful. Pros: Comfortable, Gorgeous Environment, Easy Parking more

i could leave my review at that one word - peace. but you may not understand what i mean - so....walking into the dragontree is like walking into a sanctuary, it's beautifully decorated with sweet smells wafting lightly in the air. the receptionist is always welcoming and looks like she really enjoys being there. all of the treatments are heavenly with emphasis on healing. i alsways feel so nurtured and cared for there. i recommend making it your regular place for massage and facial. Superb Service 2/19/2006

My experience at Dragontree was truly blissful...from the moment that I walked in the door into their beautiful and spacious entry way I was greeted with smiles and authenticity. My treatment began in a beautiful room with lots of plants and delicious tea as I soaked my feet in warm milk (this was the best foot soak - they kept heating it up and it wasn't just a quick perk - it was a whole experience). Then I had some other wonderful foot treatments and a warm oil scalp massage that was to die for. Then my sweet therapist brought me to a dim candle lit room that was perfectly decorated - she then gave me an hour and a half deep tissue massage that was the best massage I have ever had! Not your normal spa massage - better - way better! It was perfect afternoon - Thanks Dragontree. Pros: foot bath, deep tissue, decor Cons: none! more

OH MY GOD! What an amazing place - and amazing therapists (at least the two I had ROCKED). My sweet boyfriend bought me a gift certificate for V-day and boy did he win huge points with me! The atmosphere was beautiful, tranquil, and so...unique. The treatments (I had some combination thing and then a facial) were incredibly relaxing and when I was leaving I felt like I was in a different world...with glowing skin :). I will definately be going back - and maybe next time I will even bring my boyfriend with me. Pros: treatments, therapists, atmosphere more

Very disappointed; service doesn't match price 2/16/2006

They got it right on the environment, but missed on service. The massage involved the therapist primarily using her forearms and what I can only guess was a portion of her elbow; I asked her 6 different times to "please use lighter pressure". Since there isn't a shower area, but it is the same rate as a developed spa in Portland, I had assumed there would be a waiting area following or encouragement to stay in the room longer. No, afterwards the therapist nicely said I could stay one or two minutes before dressing. At the counter the only comment I received was "$70" and that was it. There was also a man behind the counter and he too said nothing. I just think when you enter a "Spa" for a one hour massage and 70 minutes later you are in your car driving home it could NOT be good. Thank you to The Dragontree and all of it's staff for being in Portland! I go to The Dragontree almost every month just to take time for myself, get pampered, and enjoy. The staff is always so sweet - and talented. I think I have gotten almost every service that they offer - including a facial with their wonderful new Shankara products that I love! And every time it is a perfect experience for me. It isn't your average spa - not stuffy, cold, or uncomfortable - but really a place that you feel welcome to come as you are - as who you are.
