3rd Time is NOT always a charm 10/16/2008

Just finished a meal from Thai Diner...this was my third trip to this restaurant in about a year. The first two trips were okay...obviously sufficient enough for me to go back for a third trip. The first two trips I ate in, but this particular order was a takeout order. Upon placing and paying for my order I was told the wait time would be about 10 minutes. My actual wait time...30 minutes of which I received cold and salty food (R29) and inedible dumplings due to over steaming. Pros: Pricing, location, menu variety Cons: Service, small space more

Best Thai anywhere! 3/12/2007

I'm not a fan of Thai food, however Thai Diner makes it not only editable but down right delicious. This is the only place I will eat Thai food. I usually get either the Thai pepper stake or the fried rice. However every item I've tried is excellent. Pros: Excellent food more

Consistently Good Thai 7/20/2006

We have eaten and Thai Diner several times and have always found it to be very good. They have excellent noodle dishes (Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Spicy Noodles) as well as good Penang Curries. The appetizers are also good. The atmosphere is not bad and they have Singh-Ha Thai beer as well. How can you go wrong? Pros: Great Food, Plenty of Parking, Good Prices Cons: Average Ambience more

Thai Diner is such a treat for me. The place is so chill, and the food is fabulous. I love the curries and coconut milk. Everything I've tried, I've greatly enjoyed! more

Great food, great value 12/17/2002

I've been to all the Thai places in Richmond--this was my first and remains my favorite. Delicious food, prepared to your spice tolerance, and fast, courteous service. Prices are reasonable. They have two dining rooms, so if you have a big group, you can reserve the back room. Atmosphere isn't all that--it's an old High's ice cream parlor, and it still has the pink booths--but I've always found the best food in dives so I don't pay too much attention to the looks of a place. I'm a regular here. Pros: great food, inexpensive, great service Cons: no real ambience more
