Awesome place to get a gift 3/21/2006

If you need a gift for a kid's birthday or a new baby - go here! Much better and more cool stuff than what you'd find at a toy store. Some of the rare books and prints are on the expensive side, but they've also got a good variety of stuff at a decent price for a kid of any age. They also have events almost every weekend for the kids, including book readings and musical acts. more

Storyopolis is AMAZING - my 2 kids (Age 3 and 5) LOVE it here. The story time is great, they have unique stories and not just the same old stories. Oh, and they have these little gift baskets that are just ADORABLE. On Easter I got both my kids the "Picture Book Basket" which has books, cds, and a stuffed animal. At Easter time they had stuffed bunnies and some Easter books so it was a really cute idea. At Christmas I'll check back to see if they have Christmas-themed baskets. more

a luxurious children's bookstore 8/17/2005

If there ever was a spa version of a kid's bookstore, this is it. Located in the hip area off robertson and 3rd street (near the Beverly Center), this store offers all the classics and more. They sell pristine copies of old classics like the Wizard of Oz for unbelievably high prices. If want specialty books for your children or as gifts, this is a good place to go before you head to lunch at he Newsroom Cafe. Story time is good except it gets pretty crowded with parent and kiddies in a small lounge area. The store is also not child-proof--meaning there are breakable items at low levels for easy access. It's seems like it's more of a place for parents to buy for their kids, than for kids themselves. They also frequently have special events which you can check out on their website at www.storyopolis.com. They also validate parking downstairs. more

If you are seeking a wonderful childrens book store and toy store with an art galary to boot, then this is your spot. They offer kids story times at least three times a week, and offer such a wonderful environment for the little ones. They sell great gift baskets of books for new babies as well. more
