In my world, lots of cheese, in particular ricotta, is a requirement for a calzone. So imagine my surprise when I ordered a calzone and it had a thin layer of "mozzarella" in it ...

Spiro's is not a flash pizza joint by any stretch of the imagination, parents take their kids there for birthday parties, my girlfriend and I go there if we can't be bothered to cook... Well, it's on our doorstep. However, slow as the service can be, if they are 'busy', they are couteous with it, and try there best. The food is a nice quality and at an affordable price. I rate Spiro's, you should try it once to find out for yourself. more

I have never written a restaurant review, but this meal was so bad I felt inspired. This was some of the worst pizza I have ever experienced. Goey doughy inner crust, flavorless runny cheese, goey doughy outer crust. fortunatly we only ordered a small 10"" any more would have been a tragicomedy. Wonderbread with V-8 sauce would have been, could have been better. The greek salad with ICEBERG lettuce was a real surpise especially the end cut of white bulb onion root. The chicken fetticini with creme sauce was barely edible, the everpresent flavor of burnt garlic was overpowering. The service was great, our waitress was attentive to the multiple requests for more water during this slow moving gastranomic trainwreck.... The draft beer was what kept us in our seat. Pros: service and draft beer Cons: pizza more

Pass on this one, too 2/8/2007

Again, another EXTREMELY disappointing West Seattle pizza offering. Tasteless, gooey, half-cooked dough with insipid sauces. Not inspiring at all. Good for the after-soccer practice for the little ones, but serious pizza lovers should look elsewhere. Makes Talarico's look good. more

SuperDuper 2/7/2005

Best pizza house in West Seattle and maybe entire city. Service is very friendly and competent; food is consistently good. Salads are fresh and well dressed, pizza is el dente, and everyone there is smiling. Pasta dishes are yummy too! They seem to NEVER be shorthanded on help which in this day and age is amazing in and of itself. Give it a try, you won't be sorry. My wife and I try others occasionally, but always come back home to Spiro's. Pros: great service, good value more

Great Pizza Crusts & Toppings! 9/23/2002

Spiro's is a place that serves good quality pizza in a friendly (and sometimes loud) environment. Many people like to come here after their own/child's softball games. Spiro's waitstaff knows how to accommodate large groups while keeping their parties-of-two happy. The food: pizza toppings are fresh & varient; pizza crusts are crispy on the edge & nice and chewy in the middle; salad's are topped with lots of cheese & have a slight Mediterranean feel to them; the soda's often flat. I've never ordered a pasta dish here, but they do get ordered a lot & they look gooey: topped with lots of sauce and cheese. Pros: Good parking, Fast friendly service Cons: Can be loud more
