decent food, fabulous service 9/1/2007

we stubled upon spiro's after an evening at alki and it was perfect for our needs. we had 2 little ones with us so they not only brought us crayons and paper but drinks with lids AND little bowls of shredded cheese for the kids to snack on while we waited for our food. the waitstaff was just incredibly nice, attentive, responsive, etc. the food was ok - not great but not bad. salad was good, fresh, and not skimpy. and their child-size portions are pretty big, it's a good thing my youngest is such a big eater! more

Not too trendy, Not too chain like. 9/13/2006

Middle of the road decent pizza, not pretentious, clean place, good staff. You may not have a great time here, but you won't have a bad time here either. Like the Charleston Cafe, this place will be around a long time and be reliable. Drink too much beer and it feels even better! more

Disappointing Calzone, Great Service 5/24/2006

In my world, lots of cheese, in particular ricotta, is a requirement for a calzone. So imagine my surprise when I ordered a calzone and it had a thin layer of "mozzarella" in it making it almost a glorified grilled cheese. It tasted just fine for what it was, but it did not satisfy my craving for a calzone. I guess if you didn't bring too many expectations to the table, you'd be happy. The service was super, though, and that certainly goes a long way. more

not very exciting 9/22/2005

This place is generally pretty busy. I had heard a lot about it, so one night I decided to check it out. I had a calzone and my boyfriend had the pasta. He was somewhat satisfied with the pasta (but it wasn't anything you couldn't make at home), but my calzone was dry and boring. Maybe the pizza is better than what we had, who knows... the service wasn't very nice or attentive. more

Shredded Toasted Pepperoni 8/16/2005

These types of Greek Pizza places seem to be springing up all over, with Pegusus on Alki and Petro's Pizza and Pasta in the Admiral Area, but Spiros is our family favorite. Usually crowded, but there is always a table available quick, so you don't have to wait. The pizza is great, and the staff attentive and unpretentious. Ask for the shredded, toasted pepperoni, which really tops a pizza. They don't deliver, but you can get a pizza for pickup here. more
