Extremely Poor Customer service 12/26/2005

This is a letter I sent to them and received no reply. To whom it may concern, Last July I was referred to Cameron at the Edina Spalon by Corey Foley of KDWB radio station. I wanted to find out about Great length extensions. This is the worst salon experience ever. Unprofessional, insensitive. It is unfortunate that a client spends 2400 dollars in less than 6 months and is treated so disposable. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. I did not deserve this treatment from a well known establishment. I feel if the first stylist would of returned my call (something simple). I would of never had the expense or the inconveince and would have been able to enjoy my purchase. Not to mention I would still have my hair. (This is noticeable and will take a long time to grow out). more

I have always been treated with respect and that little extra something that makes me want to come back. i am very pleased with the value and the expierince of my visits. more

THE BEST 7/24/2003

Spalon Montage is easily the best spa around. Personal, professional treatment in a classy, comfortable setting. I saw a few reviews on spa5101. They must have been written by people who work there and are trying to drum up business. The place is cold and empty. It's a good thing no one goes there because it is so small and cramped you can only fit a few people. Spalon Montage is "THE" place to go. I wouldn't bother with anywhere else. Pros: Talented staff, Exceptional service, Great atmosphere more

jamiee 7/24/2003

I have been going to Spalon's Edina location for a number of years now. I am always greeted with a smiling face at the check in desk, by friendly people that greet me by name and offer me something to drink. The Spa lounge is incredibly relaxing. All of the technicians that I have gone to are wonderful and have given great massages and facials. The hair technicians are so talented. Spalon always delivers first class service and a great atmosphere. I recommend it to everyone. Pros: great technicians, relaxing spa waiting, friendly people more

well done 7/24/2003

All technicians have had extended training. All three spas are very relaxing. Each one has its one unique charm to fit each style of person. They also have a wide variety of products and services to choose from. I recommend all my friends and family to go a treat themselves. more

Pure Heaven 7/24/2003

I have visited many Day spas in the Twin Cities Areas as well as around the world and Spalon offers the best complete package I have experienced. Whether I am in for a pedicure, a massage, hair or a full day treatment, I always walk out of there feeling like a queen; pampered and coiffed. The customer service is amazing. In this day and age where establishments seem to not care about your business, Spalon has always gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and remain a happy customer. It is simply the best Day Spa! Pros: Many services, Staff, Good Parking Cons: popular, so many choices more

Crowded! 5/14/2003

The Edina location has a tiny waiting room for those clients using spa services. When I was there last, there were two wedding parties (including children not using salon services) stuffed into the waiting room. Although the services were fine (except for red spotches on my face for days after my facial), I felt like an uninvited guest between each service. Not the relaxing day I'd hoped for. Pros: Good parking, Good location, Talented staff Cons: CROWDED! more

Spalon in Woodbury 5/9/2003

I've only been to the Woodbury location but my experience there was wonderful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present. I got a gift card for a facial and pedicure. They did a great job. I have been going there for my hair for the last 3 years and would recommend this place. Pros: Friendly, Well kept atmosphere, Easy to park Cons: At times very busy more

Best Spa 3/6/2003

The BEST spa I've been to. It is a great atmosphere and the gals that work there are terrific. They answer all the questions that you have and give you the best advice on what is best for you. No doubt the top of the line day spa and salon. Pros: friendly, Reasonable, Comfortable more

AWESOME 2/12/2003

I am SO GLAD that I did not read some of the reviews posted before I went into the Spalon Montage in Edina. I have been there four times in the last month and every experience has been wonderful. All of the employees are so friendly! I received reflexology from Michael, a massage from Colleen, a manicure from Gianna and they were all fantastic. I had a complete hair makeover from Kristen and I don't even have words to describe it. She created a style for me that is SO flattering and makes me feel so good! I have received an abundance of compliments about my new look. Kristen is the best for color and cuts! I would recommend the Spalon to all of my friends and family. I have the utmost confidence that they will take care of you, no matter what you visit them for. more

The "fast food" of the local spa. 1/29/2003

I have been a regular at Spalon for about 5 years. I have been happy with a few of the technicians--they have been knowledgable and friendly. The reception staff are very snobby/arrogant--treat you like a number and lack good customer service. If it wasn't for the quality service that I get with my facials, I would have stopped going a lot sooner! I am glad to see all of the reviews of other local spas and plan to try Spa5101. I think that Spalon Montage has become the "fast food" of the local spas--they rush you in and out. Part of the reason to go to a spa is to be in a relaxing, calming and caring environment--which you can't always get at Spalon. So...I think that it is overpriced when you consider the WHOLE spa experience. I plan to visit other spas...and probably will not go back. Pros: Knowledgable tech, quality products, variety of services Cons: Arrogant, Expansive, Feel like a "number" more

aaahhh! 1/29/2003

Spalon Montage in Woodbury is such a great experience! The calm atmosphere, the wonderful services - I hve been to many spas around the country, and Spalon is as good as any, and they give the best pedicure I ever had! Facials are great, and massages are good depending on the therapist you see. While they offer the products, they don't push them on you. Its not cheap, but its a great experience for the occasional treat. Pros: Soothing, Talented staff Cons: Expensive more

Pink and Whites - Just Right! 1/5/2003

I've been going to the Spalon Montage in Woodbury for the last 2 years and have been very happy with the service. After moving to the Cities and trying to find a replacement for my fabulous nail tech in Fargo, I had a lot of miserable experiences trying to find someone who does pink and white nails in a competent manner. Enter Sarah at the Woodbury Spalon. She does an absolutely fabulous job! I'll follow her wherever she goes. I've also had great luck with brow-waxing by May and Caroline. Great gals! -- I'd highly recommend either of them. The place is a little pricey, but after having my hands mauled at other places, I'll gladly pay the extra to have a nice job done. Pros: Great Service, Competent Employees Cons: A bit expensive, Not open Mondays more

Why is this place rated #1??? 12/18/2002

I REALLY don't understand why this place was awarded as the top day spa! I see more negative reviews than good. Someone better do some recalculating! I have to agree that they rush you in and rush you out and are certainly not personable. I also agree with CrazyPR to go down the street to Spa 5101. It's peaceful and the service is fantastic! Cons: snotty, long lines more

A little bit of heaven 11/18/2002

I've been given 1/2 day and full day packages as gifts, and there is nothing I'd rather have than a day at Spalong Montage. Always treated well, pampered to your heart's desire, and the quality of the services were excellent. Wet noodle indeed! Pros: relaxing, delivered quality, nice atmospher Cons: hard to get appt more

spa sisters 11/18/2002

My sister and I just visited Spalon Montage. her first, my 4th. The atmosphere at Edina is spa perfect. Services are very good. It would be nice if they asked ahead of time if you are a "spa socializer" (meaning you want chit-chat with your stylist / facialist, etc.) or if you prefer to enjoy your service in peace and quiet (meaning NO TALKING). I have to make banal small talk with people all week long at work, I don't need it with my reflexologist too. Skip the Chanhassen location. it feels like a generic, stripmall, suburban hair salon. Pros: classy spa atmosphere, variety of services, love the facials Cons: chatty reflexologist, must book 3-5 months, feels a little rushed more

Edina location is great! 11/13/2002

I love everything about the Edina location. I see Sean for my color/cut, Elizabeth for my waxing, and Mishon for my nails. They are all wonderful, everyone at Spalon is so nice, and they all seem happy to help in any way they can! Pros: friendly, good parking, good customer service more

Not good 11/8/2002

Every time I go to this place - I regret it. Too many people - I feel like a number. Pros: Pretty Cons: too busy, not personable more

Not all that!! 10/18/2002

I am so tired of hearing every suburban, brain dead bimbo talk about how great this spa is. I consider a spa to be a quiet haven that makes you feel like you are the only one who matters and allows you to be pampered. The Edina location is way too busy and crowed and I felt like it was a huge cattle call that made you feel like you are just another number in line. I thought the pedicure was rushed and too lame as well as way too expensive. Afterwards I had to wait in line a while just to pay. There was no warmth and an air of arrogance as this place is very popular. I hated to see how a massage was dealt, I could not imagine it being very peaceful and special. I recommend Spa 5101 off France if you want to feel pampered! Pros: free parking Cons: Bad Traffic area, too busy, too expensive more

Esthetician Elizabeth 10/14/2002

5 years ago I received a certificate for a facial, massage & pedicure. The latter 2 services were fine, but the esthetician, Elizabeth, was wonderful. I've returned to her every 2-3 months since that time. Problem skin did nothing for my self-confidence and she was not only empathetic but also helped improve my complexion thru facials and recommending appropriate product. Not only is she is knowledgeable; but seems to love her job and helping people look better. Pros: technical ability, flexible hours, personality more
