Best

Nice place. I really like it. My favorite restaurant in Denver!

Worst

The food was terrible and overpriced. The service was mediocre at best. We waited over five minutes for our drinks with on even a third of the resteraunt full, and the food runn...

Crying Infants at bar during Happy Hour 6/5/2009

The title says it all for the crying kids in the bar. Is it even legal to have kids in a bar area? Crying infants are not the way to relax with a drink after work.............. Bartenders show preference and new customers are last to be served. This is an OLDER CROWD(50+) of regulars and the bartenders cater to them vs welcoming new customers. Pros: Family Friendly happy hour! No morals, bring your kids!! Cons: Children in bar area, Older Crowd(50+), Selective bartenders more

Pretty good 2/10/2009

My boyfriend and I came here about 2 weeks ago. We were looking for something casual, but nice. After reading the reviews and checking out the menu (not to mention that their web site had a coupon for $20 off of a bottle of wine...) we decided that it would be a good place to go. When we first walked in there was no one at the hostess stand. One gal, who I suppose was the hostess, kept running around all crazy. When the wait staff would approach her she would snap at them and say she didn't have any menus, etc. Then one couple came to the stand and she said that she didn't have their reservation and there was nothing she could do about the wait. I'm not in hospitality, but I think she should have apologized and said she would seat them as soon as possible...However, once we were seated things were fine. The bread and dipping sauce was very yummy. The wine was good (and just about free!) Both our dinners were fine, nothing amazing, but good. Our server was attentive, pleasant and polite. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. I feel like I would have a better opinion if it hadn't been tainted by the hostess's attitude towards the people around her. It's definitely worth checking out though if you want just want a casual, nice, neighborhood place to relax. Pros: Nice place Cons: Hostess had an attitude more

Don't eat the tomato basil soup 1/31/2009

I had high expectations for this restaurant after checking out all the reviews. I am a vegetarian, and unfortunately there were not many vegetarian-friendly items on the menu. So I decided to choose the tomato basil soup, which I normally love and it's usually hard to do wrong. But this was by far the WORST tomato basil soup I've ever had, and I am not a picky eater. It tasted like watered-down tomato paste from a can. If you want good tomato basil soup, get the bisque at Safeway instead. On the positive sides, though, the atmosphere was nice, service was good, and for desert we got the chocolate toffee mousse, which was rich, creamy, and delicious. more

My Favorite Denver Place 11/2/2008

Prices range from a $8 burger to a $23 steak, so there was something for everyone on the menu. I ended up getting the fish and chips, which was delicious. They let me switch out the coleslaw and french fries for cottage cheese and white rice. Service was extremely fast and friendly. I'll definitely eat here again the next time I make it out to Denver. Well worth the price. Pros: Own parking lot, classy atmosphere, quiet, food, service. Cons: Hard to spot, small lit sign. more

Great food and great service, it was promptly ready in the time they said and as I said the food was Great! more

Fabulous! 6/17/2008

My grandma took me here for the first time today and I loved it! It's a cross between the Cherry Creek Grille and the Wash Park Grille, only brighter and more casual...kind of a lunch version of two of my favorite restaurants. I loved the exposed brick and the dark wood. The bread and pesto dip was absolutely divine, as was the chicken burrito I ordered. I bumped into some old friends on the way out, which was a lovely surprise and made me feel right at home. They told me that it was one of their favorite lunch restaurants. I give it a few months until this place becomes one of the most popular neighborhood hangouts in the Wash Park area. I'm so glad my grandma discovered it! Pros: Ambience, food Cons: Parking more

Fun Happy Hour 4/15/2008

\r Absolutely outstanding food. Great variety on the menu and friendly service. Atmosphere is classy, fun and romantic. Parking can be tricky, but any wait is worth it. more

Comfort food at comforting prices 3/2/2008

I can never figure out what to order at this warm & inviting local restaurant. I beg my fellow diners to order different things so I can spoil my taste buds with all of the melt in my mouth tidbits. I use my selling techniques to convince each person that they have to try the eggplant, the burger, fish & chips, chicken pot-pie and lobster quesadillas....mmmmmmmm.....the service has always been impecable and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are enough for leftovers and usually they taste as good if not better that the first time. I won't share the veal schnitzel with anyone! Lately I have budgeted valuable belly space for the Chocolate Kahlua Toffee Mousse cake or the White Chocolate Bread pudding. Hurry up and GO GO GO! Pros: Fresh food, parking, service, value, not a chain! Cons: can't order everything I like in one visit! more

My new favorite restaurant 3/2/2008

I went to Seven 30 South for my first time last month and have been back several times since. The parking at first was hard but then I saw you could park on the street right behind the restaurant. Once inside it feels like your home, very comfortable, brick walls hardwood floors. They have a huge menu and I have tried many things. The hamburger is very juicy and I love the sweet potato fries. This is not a fancy restaurant. It is what I call a grab a bite to eat place. You know you will always have a good meal at a good price. I had the enchiladas that the other reviewer had and loved them. The weekend brunch is awsome as is the happy hour. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual meal. Pros: Great brunch, Great Happy hour, Great burger Cons: too many good choices more

Great Brunch on a Cold Sunday Morning 12/9/2007

My friends & I needed a place to celebrate a Birthday Brunch and we stumble upon 730 South. It has been years since we've been there and were pleasantly surprise by how wonderful it was. I had the breakfast burrito with a chipotle holandaise, nice touch. my friends had the Pesto Omelete, the Salmon Benedict, and Club Sandwich. We were all very impressed with the food and great service.\r \r The only thing that I didn't like very much was my potatoes. It was cold and not very fresh at 11:30am\r \r Enjoyed it , great value, and we would go back. Pros: great food, great value Cons: parking more

My New Place!!!! 12/6/2007

I dined at 730 South five nights ago with 8 other girlfriends, due to a recommendation. I must say the service and food were excellent. I was scepticle at first beacause usually places that have a large menu ( no specific cusine) don't do that great of a job because they try to please everyone. But all of my girlfriends had different entrees and each one was great. I was very impressed with the quality of my Trout. The server was very attentive and never let or drinks get empty. One of my friends went there yesterday for lunch and said, ""again it was a great experience."" The only down fall is the parking lot, but I was told to just park on the street. We will all be back. Pros: great service, hot fresh food more

The Spot 11/30/2007

I went to 730 South Restaurant the other day at a coworkers recommendation and I found that this spot was everything that I was looking for. The food was outstanding, the ambiance warm and comfortable, and the staff friendly and attentive. I travel a lot, so finding somewhere that makes me feel at home and welcome is huge for me. I recommend the killer shrimp, any of the steaks or pastas, and a martini or their feature wine selections. If you eat out more than 1 time a week, give this place a try. Cheers. Pros: Great neighborhood spot Cons: There is only one in Denver more

Delicious food, average service 11/27/2007

I came here on a Saturday night. We had reservations which I would recommend, although if you don't mind eating in the bar area, there was still seating available there. I ordered the soup of the day to start with, which was lobster bisque. Very delicious although a tad bit salty for my tastes. For my entree I ordered the salmon, which was absolutely fantastic. Service was only average--our waiter disappeared for lengths of time and I probably could have fit another beverage into my meal if he had only come by often enough. Also, adding soup to an entree is a reduced price from ordering soup separately, but he had initially tried to charge all of us full price for our add-on soups. He did fix all of our bills without delay. The food here makes up for the average service. Parking can be tough in the lot for the restaurant; there is parking available at the Library on the corner of the street if needed. Pros: Delicious food Cons: Average service more

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT 7/16/2007

I am shocked by any bad reviews of this place. I eat brunch there every Sunday and if you don't like the hollandaise, you don't know what hollandaise is. It is definetly homemade and doesn't have mayo in it. They are packed for brunch every week with most people ordering eggs benedict. That other reviewer needs to get a clue. I have also been there for dinner and have never been dissapointed. There is not another restaurant in town that can offer this much variety and value. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Pros: location, value, service, ambience, variety Cons: crowded more

This Place Stinks!!! 7/9/2007

I have just moved here and decided to try this place. Don't bother? Service STINKS!!! Waited for ever for our server to even come by our table, server messed up our order and blamed it on us. Food below average and bland. We complained because 2 out of the 4 meals we ordered were cold. Nobody seemed to care. Manager hanging out in bar oblivious to concerns of patrons. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!! Pros: it was close to our new house Cons: service, food, management more

Best Eggs Benedict in Denver my A**!! 7/2/2007

After reading all the reviews on this place I thought for sure it would be worth it. We just moved here from out of town and we are big eggs benedict fans always trying out new places. We saw this listed as ""The best eggs benedict in Denver"" HA! Yea right. Did the staff choose this title themselves? The hollandaise sauce here was disgusting. It was made with mayonaise and just tasted like mayo and butter mixed. no seasoning or real flavor. The staff was rude upon entry. No greeting, no smile and our waiter seemed like a robot. \r \r The overall vibe at this place was just strange. I definitely would not return here. Cons: service, bland food more

Best Neighborhood Spot 6/7/2007

I brought some business associates here for dinner and we all agreed that this place exceeded our expectations. We started with some great calamari,, very tender. I had a filet mignon that was cooked perfectely. My associates thought the bread and dip was superb. I have been herre for brunch many times and the eggs benedict is some of the best in the country. My server Ellington anticipated our needs and did not intrude on our meeting. I would recommend this gem for any occasion. Pros: great value, selection and service Cons: parking more

Good Solid Neighborhood Staple 3/22/2007

I've been here many times and I'm shocked at the bad reviews I've read. I love this restaurant, not because it's the absolute BEST food I've had or the service is the absolute BEST, but everything is good. I've never had a dish, I haven't been pleased with. They have a good menu with a variety of tasty dishes. The price is affordable and I can always find something that sounds good. The staff is friendly, attentive, and I've never had BAD service. The eggs bennedict on the brunch menu is the absolute best I've had in town, and I've tried it at many restaurants around town - at least 10-15 breakfast places, so that says something in itself. And the desserts, I think I've tried most on the menu are good choices as well. I'll keep coming here for years to come. more

Bonnie Brae GEM!!!!!!!!! Excellent - all around. 3/6/2007

Best neighborhood restuarant in Denver. I love it, my kids love it, my lady loves it, my parents love it. Great all-around restaurant. Owned now by one of Colorado's premier restauranteurs. Cannot go wrong. Weekends recommended - especially Sunday brunch. Pros: Staff, food, price Cons: not open 24 hours more

The Bonnie Brae Applebee's 2/26/2007

My husband and I tried out Seven 30 South during restaurant week. The service was so/so and so was the food. It felt like an Applebee's minus the flair. Our drinks were pretty slow coming and in general the ambience and people lacked personality. The rigatoni was something like I threw together in college with frozen peas and all. The bread pudding was pretty bad and the portion was so massive, I felt like it was a bad batch they were trying to get rid of. It wasn't such a horrible experience that I thought I got sick, but there's plenty of other restaurants in Denver... try somewhere else. Pros: Location Cons: Ambience, personality more
