Best Highlights 5/12/2008

My co-worker always has the most gorgeous hair & she told me to go to Lisa. I have done highlights in the past but over time I just become too blonde. I have brown hair & just wanted natural highlights. Lisa did what she called a ""sun-kissed"" look. It really brightened up my dull brown hair. I absolutely LOVE IT!! WORST salon in Westlake 5/10/2008

Nothing I received at this salon was worth the amount of money and time I spent 1) scheduling an appointment with the owner/receptionist, who needed to reschedule it twice; 2) waiting for a late hairdresser which was not the one I had booked my appointment with; and 3) leaving with a hairstyle which cost twice as much as it was worth and looked unprofessional. Pros: Unfortunately this salon is located in Westlake. Cons: Unprofessional; Unreliable. more

Great haircuts! 5/8/2008

There is an old joke about why the Queen of England always wear a hat. She has white girl hair! Well I would be wearing a hat all the time too if not for Virginia Bell's great haircuts. Fine, frizzy and mousy before and since starting with Virginia I get accolades weekly if not daily! (she does my color, too) more

Best Men's Haircut 5/5/2008

It is hard to find the combination of a hip stylist and a traditional barber. Salone di Essenza has that in Virginia Bell. She always knows how to get that fresh new look, and still get my hair perfectly faded around the sides and the back - just the way I like it. Virginia has been cutting my hair for over twenty years, and she'll be the one I visit the next time I need to look my best. more

Jennifer Hill is the best! 3/1/2008

Don't let Jen's crazy hair and tattoo's fool you - she's an expert who can give you any type of color and style, from funky to high-class. She's the only one I let cut and color my hair, and I've recently asked her to do the up-dos on the wedding party for my up-coming wedding. She's been my stylist for three years now, and I love her new berth at Salone di Essenza. It's a good location (with doughnuts and coffee right next door for those early-morning appointments) and the other stylists are great ladies as well. more

I cannot say enough positive things in this review. Jennifer is a fabulous hair stylist and I wouldn't go to anyone else to get my hair done. She is an incredibly talented colourist and knowledgeable about her craft. She works very hard to make sure that you get the hairstyle that you want. She's helpful and friendly and fun to be around. Pros: Friendly people, very skilled, passionate about their work, relaxing enviroment. Cons: Far south. more

I have been a client of Jennifer Hill's for a number of years, and she is the best stylist ever! She has always done an amazing job for me. She's an expert colorist and stylist. The salon is very friendly and has a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere as well. Can't be beat! I have never had a stylist who I trusted more or was more pleased with than Jennifer Hill! Quality Hair Care at its best! 11/14/2007

I have been going to Lisa for almost three years to have my hair cut, colored, and styled. I also buy my products from her salon. Hands down, she is the best colorist in town. She is very precise and intricate with my highlights; I can't tell where the highlights end and my natural color begins! Not to mention, she always does my hair exactly how I describe I want it. She is very natural with the colors she uses and the cut always looks good. I've also had my brows waxed before and was very pleased with the results. The staff is very friendly and most definitely competent of their work. The atmosphere is relaxing and chic, and located in a really convenient location. They offer multiple brands of hair care products-and most of the time there's always specials on the pricing. I would recommend this salon to anyone who believes in quality hair care and customer service. Salon di Essenza is by far the best salon in town. Pros: Cool Staff, Great location, cost efficient, quality products and hair care, clean environment Cons: none....this place is great! more

My Favorite Westlake Salon! 9/6/2007

Salone di Essenza is a warm, inviting salon where I always feel welcome. Everyone there is friendly, helpful and professional. There is usually no wait at all when I arrive so things flow smoothly with appointment times set to accommodate busy schedules. Lisa has been coloring and cutting my hair for years and she listens to my ideas and then gives me good advice about what will or will not work for my hair. Great Family Salon! 9/5/2007

My whole family has been going to Lisa for 13+ years. She has always made us look awesome! I used to have drab, unruly, thick hair. Lisa highlights it with several colors to give me a brighter, natural look and cuts it into a more manageable style. She has taught me over the years how to take care of it. My husband used to have difficult hair, which has lots of cow-licks. She tames it so nicely! My children adore her. My daughter loves all the new trendy cuts Lisa gives her. She also gets highlights too which are just enough to give it a sun kissed look. My son will only let Lisa cut his cut. She keeps his 'shaggy"" style looking good, which keeps us both happy. Virginia is one of the greatest hairstylist you will find in Austin, she is truly a diamond in the rough when it comes to hair! She always keeps my hair up-to-date with all the lastest trends. When it comes to color, shaping and style she's your gal. My hair was a thick, un-even mess until her hands worked miracles for me over and over again! Once upon a time, my hair was a nightmare that literally gave me a headaches, now there's nothing my hair won't do. With her knowledge on products she has helped me in maintaining the beauty and shine in my hair.I can't even imagine going to anyone else! I have been getting my hair done by the owner, Lisa, for almost 8 years. She has always been friendly and professional. She always makes the time for me to come in, even if she has to stay late. She does an excellent job with highlighting, cutting and styling! My daughter has been getting her hair cut with her since she was 4 and still loves to go! Lisa has a beautiful salon that is clean and relaxing. The other stylists are friendly and make you feel at home! I have referred many friends and family to the salon and will continue to do so! My hair is just going through a difficult period. One that?s lasted, oh, about five years. \r \r I've wasted too much time finding this salon! Let me set you straight on the right path. Salone di Essenza has it all. I come in for full highlights, cut and style. I always leave feeling like a million bucks. So I more than get my money?s worth! I've seen the same professional stylists giving quality work on all their clients. I've brought in my 16, 18 and 21 year old sons for some terrific styling. Lisa worked a miracle on each of their very different hair types and showed them how to maintain their styles. Of course all the stylists are licensed professionals who were hand-selected to participate in this very exclusive salon. I'm happy to recommend them with confidence. Everyone in this salon is so friendly. If my regular stylist is busy and I need to get in, someone else takes care of me. I feel like I know all of them. ""The Essence of Beauty""? You bet your boots! From the time I walked thru the front door, I was treated like I was their most important client. I thought I had stepped into a village in Tuscany, Italy when I started looking at the decor. I felt very relaxed and my mood improved by the excellent conversation that I had with my stylist. I had color and highlights, a long process, and it went by very quickly. I would recommend this salon to anyone who wants to be sure they are going to a salon with experience and knowledge of what the beauty industry is all about. \r \r I rested easy when I told my stylist to take control and that I was looking for something new. She was very excited and confident as she threw some ideas by me. She had the solution. When I got home, my husband and I had planned on going to dinner with some friends. My husband called and cancelled, he wanted a night alone with me. WOW! it's been a while since I've had a reaction like that. Way to go Essenza! I have been to so many salons in this area and this one finally made my return list! salone dia ""don't"" 7/5/2007

It would be one thing if someone knew how to do hair, but I thought I was getting my hair done @ a topless bar. There was so much cleavage I thought I was looking at slot machines in Vegas! The only thing she talked about was herself and I never got a word in. I asked for highlights and my hair looks like all one color with an inch of growth and it took almost 3 hours! I don't know what happened. There used to be good colorist working there, but they have since left.....I found out the hard way! Cons: too many to count! more
