Salon Sovay is a wonderful place! I highly recommend Sovay, the owner of the shop. She does fantastic work with an amazing eye for detail. She takes her work very seriously and takes the time to make her clients feel completely at ease while working miracles with hair. I have received the best cuts and color ever from Sovay. I had the pleasure of visiting Salon Sovay a couple of days ago and I have to tell you what an AMAZING experience it was. The Salon has a great atmosphere, very clean and everyone is very nice. I moved to Austin almost three years ago, and could never find a hair stylist that i was completely satisfied with. I went to Salon Sovay and Brooke did an amazing job on my hair. She was very friendly and made sure i left with a satisfactory haircut. She is wonderful, and i finally have a regular hair place in Austin. The salon was always a very welcoming environment. more

Salon Sovay is a wonderful experience. The attitude and approach to beauty that Sovay promotes is unique and the best I've seen in any salon. I've had great cuts by Kevin and Violet, and Sovay is absolutely the best colorist I've ever encountered. Any hair care need you have, she and her staff try to meet. I also appreciate the South Austin location -- makes it easy to reach from home or work. The salon itself is clean and relaxed, and the staff seem to really enjoy their work. They book their own appointments, but I have found everyone returns customer calls within the same business day to schedule appointments. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Quite possibly the best highlights i""ve ever gotten. Sovay takes her time and has an eye for true feminine beauty. the salon is classic cool with an uber relaxing vibe. the house on south 1st is a true testament to urban renewal. i reccomend this salon for hippsters that arent into phones ringing off the wall and kids running about. I have black, medium to long thick hair and Sovay did wonders for my hair. She gave me a layer cut that I was so so happy with and felt 10 lbs lighter, she also gave me partial hightlights with a nutmeg color that fit perfect for my tan complextion and hair color. This is one of the best salons I ever been to. Sovay did a tremendous job I would recommend her to anyone who wants to come out of a salon feeling refreshed and completely satisfied. \r \r Thank you Sovay!! more

I was referred to Sovay a couple of years ago by my friend, Ana. She was getting her highlights by Sovay and gave me her name and number. That was the best referral I have ever received. I am EXTREMELY picky about my hair and Sovay is probably the only person who is pickier. She is meticulous and artistic when choosing the right shades (I have 3 colors blended in) and application. I never have to tell her what to do, she just gets it right every time. I also appreciate that we tweak it here and there when I get bored. I am so pleased with my hair color and I want everyone to know that Sovay is simply the best at what she does. Sovay, I am very grateful and hope everyone finds out what a gem you are to Austin! It is such a treat to come to Salon Sovay in the middle of my work week and get great service, friendly conversation, and the very best hair creations. I truly draw compliments from men and women about my\r super-model hair style. I have good hair, but Salon Sovay makes it spectacular!!! Sovay herself is the best,\r and I recommend her highly for a hair look that will suit your lifestyle...but you will need to find that out for\r yourself. I came to this salon on special invite. Sovay got news of my daughter ruths needs for hair care pdq. Ruth is a paraletic of four years. We at home washed her hair at the kitchen sink and had previously watered Ruths chair so severly that it was damaged. In other words, hair day had become fearful and uncertain. Sovay invited Ruth to have a special glam day at Salon Sovay. An angel greeted my girl with a smile. Ruths day was swept away with dazzle and glam all from the heart, all from the soul. A standing invite has insued and my helpless girl who had felt so unattractive, so looked over or just stared at ... comes to Salon Sovay for updates and a frothey shampoo every Monday. People still notice Ruth but it is different. They are just seeing an attractive woman in a wheelchair. Thank you Sovay for your heart of gold. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

I have very difficult hair, and Sovay does wonders with it. It is long, course, and frizzy/wavy. She is very talented with high and low lights and she knows how to blowdry hair like mine which is very difficult to blowdry. In the past I have paid a lot of money to highlight and blowdry my hair at many different salons and have been seriously dissappointed almost every time especially with the blowdry. I can HONESTLY say that when I walked out of Salon Sovay, I looked and felt like I had actually walked out of a salon. My exact words were ""I finally found my hair-dresser"". By the way I am 41 and it has taken me this long to find my hairdresser. more

Do you know when to recognize a superior stylist? When there is no iron necessary to style your hair and you walk out with great color, great cut, AND a great style! Sovay is simply the BEST! She specializes in color and highlights but thoroughly understands everything about bringing out her client's best features. I have been seeing Sovay for two years and I continue to be delighted everytime I leave her salon! She is truly one of the few stylists that can not only color and cut, but can blowdry one's hair with a brush to make it look like it has natural fullness and bounce....exactly as one would get in the finer salons in France or Italy. New salon but I heard about Sovay through friends a year ago. She rocks at highlights. I have always had highlights (natural color a dishwater blonde, yuck) and everyone makes me too brassy...she put three different colors in my hair and they are all beautiful shades of blonde...NO BRASS. I will be a client forever...she's incredible and nice, to boot. Great salon ambiance, great highlights...you must check it out! more

I'm extremely particular about my hair and heard about Sovay through ladies at work who said she was the best at highlights in town! My coworkers have been following her since she was a student at beauty school! She has since opened her own salon in South Austin and I booked an appointment for my highlights. I have NEVER had such incredible highlights. In addition, she does complimentary touch-ups in between color appointments. I've never met anyone who is more particular than me about my hair but she is...I would highly recommend her to anyone who is picky about their highlights...mine are superb...I would not go to anyone else. Sovay suggested an eyelash perm and tint - not only was it painless, cheap and quick- it looks fabulous! Took her advice on a new hair color/shine treatment & it looks great!
